I was cuddled up inside the blanket, my tank top was drenched, and I was sweating profusely when I woke up.
It was already sunny outside when I got out of bed and saw the air conditioner was off.
It was 10 am when I went to check the time in the living room. After returning to my room to take a shower, I discovered that my clothes were missing from the closet.
What the fuck...

That's when I recognized this wasn't my room; I had completely forgotten about last night. I can't believe I spent the night in Charles' room and he didn't toss me out when he woke up.
And I just showered in his bathtub, so it's no surprise that something seemed off. My toothbrush wasn't there, and the shower gel smelled weird. I returned to my bathroom to clean my teeth, and nothing seemed different. I returned to Charles' room, dressed in trousers and a sweatshirt. I switched on the ac from the wall and adjusted the bed. I made sure everything looked the same as it did last night. He must not find out that I bathed in his bathroom.

I went to the kitchen to get something to eat, then waited in the living room for him to arrive. He's been in his office since I awoke, and it's already 11 a.m.
I walked directly to his office and knocked, hoping for a response...
No response, so I knocked again.

Still no response... What's he doing? Or was he simply ignoring me?
I knocked again and did not hesitate to barge into his office. To my astonishment, it was unlocked and completely empty.

He must have left without saying anything, and I'm here spending time knocking to check if he's there.
His desk was vacant, which was unusual as it typically holds files and papers. I left his office so he wouldn't notice my presence. I am fucking bored all over again, and he is not even here.

I suddenly remembered today's plan, which was to go to Lucas' place. I had completely forgotten about it; how could I face Lucas again after our breakup? It had been a month or so, but he was still on my mind. And now I'm going to face him, while he probably believes I'm a criminal.
I checked the time again and it's still 11:10. I got up and walked to Charles' room since it seemed like time was flowing too slowly. I shouldn't be snooping around, but screw it.

I came in and gasped in amazement as I glanced through his closet. Everything was in good order, and I couldn't see anything wrong with the arrangement of his closet. His clothes, ties, and shoes were all carefully arranged, and he matched some outfits with his shoes in another space, which included a stand mirror beside his shoe collections. Everything was immaculate, including his watches and sunglasses.

My closet could never compare to this; I'm constantly tossing stuff around and it's never this tidy.

I walked around for a while, admiring all of his excellent watches and glasses. There was a safe box on the table in the center of his closet. I was curious about what he was hiding in the closet but was startled by the sound of boots and a door closing, prompting me to leave.
Fuck, Fuck, Fuck.

I swiftly walk out of his closet, and the lights turn off. I exited his room and closed the door, proceeding to the living area. I hope I didn't leave any evidence that I was snooping in his closet.
I entered the living room and found no one was present. My pulse quickened as I looked around the room and noticed nothing had changed, yet the surroundings felt different. The sound of footsteps and a door closing or opening was so loud that I could swear I heard it.

My heart raced, but then the front door opened and Charles, looking stunning and unconcerned, strode inside. Then he looked at my expression on my face and changed his face. Upon realizing it was him and not some trespasser, I exhaled with relief.
"Thank God it was you," I respond, struggling to keep a grin on my face despite my cautious tone. "You nearly scared me to death."
I started to walk Reentering the living room.
