I could feel myself start to shake a tiny bit. "How you you like to finally have a real mom?"

"What?" Emmie asked, freezing in her spot.

"I'm....I'm gonna ask Lauren to marry me, so we can be a family and you can have a mom and so we will all be together for the new baby," I said and squeezed Emmie tightly to my chest.

I waited for her to respond but she didn't for a minute, as if she was processing everything. Every second that ticked past, I got more nervous until Emmie shot up and looked at me. "Really?!" I nodded and she hugged me around my neck.

"But you can't tell her, and I'm gonna need your help." Her smiled was priceless and I got out my laptop. "Okay, I'm gonna tell you the plan, so listen carefully."

When I was almost done explaining everything to Emmie, Lauren knocked on the door. "What are you guys doing in there? Can I come in?" Lauren giggled the doorknob, notifying us that she was there.

I tossed all my stuff on the ground to hide it and Emmie jumped on my lap, making it look like she was sleeping on my chest. "Yeah, come in," I whispered since Emmie was 'sleeping'. Lauren quietly opened the door and smiled while looking at Emmie and I.

"Whatcha doing?" She whispered and sat down at the edge of the bed.

"Nothing much." She leaned down and gently kissed me with the touch of her soft lips.

It was the night. It was the night that I was gonna propose to the love of my life. I don't think I had ever been so excited and nervous at the same time. So many what ifs ran through my mind.

What if something goes wrong?

What if I mess something up?

What if she says no?

I carefully moved the ring box around in my hands before looking up in the mirror at myself. I couldn't help but grab my comb so I could comb my hair, I needed to look good.

Here we go.

When I went out into the living room, Emmie was on Lauren's lap while talking to her. They both looked adorable in their matching white dresses. "Emmie," I whispered and she stopped talking to look up at me. "Come here." She smiled and rushed over to me and I brought her in the bathroom, picking her up and placing her on the vanity. "You ready?"

Emmie nodded eagerly and I handed her the ring box. Emmie was wearing a pair of shorts under her dress so that she could hide the ring in her pocket. "Ready! Good luck, daddy."

"Thank you, baby. You know what to do?"

"Yep!" I picked her up and walked back out to Lauren. It would be easier to keep the ring hidden if I carried Emmie.

"Ready to go?" Lauren asked and I nodded.

We all made our way out to the back porch and opened the fence. My feet hit the warm sand shortly after and I took a look around. It was the most beautiful evening which was perfect. It looked like the sun was sitting on top of the water and the sky was a light shade of pink. The best part was, somehow nobody was out with us.

"Can I go play in the sand?" Emmie asked.

"Go ahead, kid." I set her down and she winked at me before running off and sitting down in the sand.

I then took Lauren's hand in mine and brought us a little closer to the water. She took my other hand and grinned before quickly pecking my lips. "This has been an amazing vacation."

"We have only been here for like three days," I chuckled and wrapped my arms around her waist. Her arms looped around my neck and she kissed me again.

"Well they have been an amazing three days," Lauren replied.

I took a quick glance at Emmie who was still playing in the sand. When she saw me looking at her, she jumped up and ran over. "Dad, will you hold my necklace?" She asked and held out her necklace to me. I took it from he and she went down to the water. Everything was going as planned so far.

"C'mere," I said and carefully pulled her over to where Emmie was playing before. "It's such a beautiful night....just like you." She looked up, smiling and blushing at the same time. I then secretly slipped Emmie's necklace into my pocket and then fake dropped the necklace. "Oh shit!" I said and looked down at the sand.

"What?" Lauren asked and looked down with me.

"I dropped Emmie's necklace! It's her favorite one as well!" I dropped down to the sand and started to dig around in the wrong place purposely. I could tell where Emmie had buried the ring by the small pile of sand sticking up. Lauren knelt down next to me and started to look. She started to slow down when she came across the ring box. I placed my hands on top of hers and took the box, standing both of us up, but I then got down on one knee.

Lauren's eyes widened and I saw tears falling down her face. "I'm not that great at things like this but I'll do my best," I chuckled making Lauren smile. "I love you so much Lauren...more than you'll ever know, and I love our baby just as much. So I want us all to be a family. You, me, Emmie, and the baby. You are the light of my life and one of the only reasons I get up in the morning. Lauren Cohan, will you do me the honor of becoming Mrs. Yeun, and will you marry me?"
