I stared into the darkness, wide-eyed, hoping to catch a glimpse of something - anything. I heard the steady drumming of water droplets echo in my ears, somewhere not too far away. Slowly I began to gain feeling in my limbs, only to realize my hands and legs were bound to the chair. A bitter-tasting gag in my mouth prevented me from calling out.

Think. Think! I tried to recall anything that would allow me to make sense of my surroundings. But my mind, still disoriented, could only snatch hazy images. Yelling, a shove and finally darkness. At the sound of distant footsteps, I wrestled in my bounds. I tried to make a noise, anything to catch the attention of the passerby. I kicked my feet, only to feel frigid water slosh up into my boots. The footsteps seemed to come from everywhere, and I strained to see.

"My, my..." I heard, and instantly felt the prickle of hairs along my neck standing on end. Suddenly it had all come back, I remembered. I remembered it all. My heart pounded, pounded in anger and vengeance. My head throbbed painfully as I struggled against the chair. "Seems we've lost all our fight, have we?" I would have let out a string of very colourful curses, if not for the gag. Instead I just stared mutely into the gloom, trying to make out his shape. He came closer until he was well within arm's reach, "Catch me if you can." he whispered with a sneer. His footsteps filled the silence eventually fading away entirely while his voice continued to ring in my ears. Catch him, I certainly would.
