"Just do it quick

"Just do it quick. Just do it quick", the young basketball player urged. His body fidgeted neurotically as he looked behind him at the invisible people he assumed lay in waiting. "If Chrissy comes out here she's gonna kill us!" he exclaimed.

You made a mental note to not put him on your list of people to rob a bank with and then snorted under your breath. The kid was damn near perspiring from the amount of anxiety he had. You almost felt bad for him; so helpless.

"No", you swallowed. "If Chrissy comes out here she's gonna kill you". Your finger pressed into his deflated chest and then you turned it onto yourself. "I on the other hand am fine".

Your sinister grin caused his eyes to widen and you pushed the flask of Vodka into his skinny chest and then took off walking. He stuttered for a moment before whipping around and realizing you already started heading towards the diner, leaving him behind.

"Hey!" He called out, shoving the flask into his backpack and running after you through the parking lot. "Wait up!"

The bells of the diner rang as you stepped foot into your favorite place. It had been a while since you'd been there. In fact, the last time was when Billy took you on a date all those weeks ago. The thought of it made you frown but you refused to have your memories of this place tainted by an asshole who couldn't keep his hands to himself. You walked towards your loud group of friends and your eyes flicked to the booth you and Billy sat at, slightly hating that he did have memories stored in your mind and of all places, here.

"Herbs!" Jason's loud mouth yelled across the not-so-quiet diner. His arms stretched out wide, welcoming you as if you two were best friends. As if he didn't see you at school and the Basketball game he won about thirty minutes ago.

You fakely smiled at his overt affection and walked over to their booth. It looked like the entire team showed up and crammed into the burger joint, taking up every single table and chair that they had. Those poor waitresses. Chrissy thankfully snagged you a spot with your friends before you ran off with the little Freshman boy. You couldn't help resist the invitation to drink daddy's vodka from a flask in the parking lot with a 14 year old who probably thought you'd bone him. Poor poor little Freshman. So mistaken.

"Hey hey", you smiled and plopped down in the peeling leather seat across from Jason, feeling like you might be able to actually withstand being there now.

You weren't drunk. Just... comfortable. The edge was taken off, let's just say. The Freshman got to tell all of his little friends that he drank with you in the parking lot, but you got to use him to quiet your nerves. It's a win win really.

Chrissy eyed you as Jason handed you a menu. Although you already knew what you wanted.

"I got you a Cherry coke and a burger", Chrissy somewhat yelled over Jason's cross fire. He was talking to one of the guys at the end of the table and Chrissy was clearly not having it. She turned to Jason and shot him a look as she stood. "Switch", she motioned for him to get up.
