Alette looked at the mess of clothes in front of her. She didn't even feel like moving an inch let alone getting up and leaving the house but she didn't have any options. The workplace doesn't understand things such as heartbreak or break up. Alette looked at the reflection at her tear stricken face. She looked like hell. Her head hurt. Her limbs felt heavy.

God! I have never imagined my perfect life would become such a mess.

Alette had what people called the perfect family. She'd got a wealthy family and she did her degree from a good college and was working as an assistant manager and soon going to be promoted. And she had the most caring boyfriend anyone could ever imagine. Hence, a perfect relationship everyone was envious of.

"Had!" She chuckled.

She walked towards the window, pushing the curtain aside to look out.

Everything looks okay. Nothing unusual. She walked out of her room, but something caught her eyes and she squinted her eyes at the object. Picking it up she gritted her teeth. How happy she was when he gifted her this.

How can I be so naive?

Taking the little teddy in her hand, she walked downstairs and almost threw it in the bin but stopped. She could give it to charity! She sighed as she looked around herself. The big house sometimes felt monstrous, but thank god! She had her babies with her.

She whistled and a small smile appeared on her lips as she heard pitter-patter of their paws on the wooden floor. Before she could prepare herself four four legged giants jumped on her licking her face and whining and jumping in excitement.

"Come on devils. Let me get up!" She commanded while giggling.

Sitting up in her place she cuddled her four dogs. Each of them were massive. Alette personally preferred large dog breeds. One black shepherd named Beast, one Doberman named Evil, One husky named Cruella, mostly because of her two different eye colors and one Rottweiler Zelda. All of them were female. She believed that females were more obedient.

They were of help yesterday.

"You guys must not be hungry after the night's feast." She snickered while petting her dogs.

She shook her head not wanting to remember anything about yesterday. She glanced at her wrist watch.

I will be late for work.

After having breakfast she left for work. Sitting at the driver's seat she put on the seatbelt and started the engine. Her mind once again got fogged by the last few days' events.

She was so in love with Shane that she never doubted him for even a second. She never kept her expectations too high. She knew that expectations are the death to any relationship. But then something suddenly seemed to have changed. She could not explain it properly but something did shift. She noticed how anxious he was around her and how sometimes he used to stammer or avoid eye contact with her but she felt maybe she was overthinking. She even tried to talk to Shane to avoid any misunderstandings.

Alette parked her car and walked inside the building. As the sound of her heels echoed around the hallway she tried to walk confidently like usual. She was good at faking it. When she joined this job, years ago she had to meet her targets of meeting strangers and persuading them to purchase the product. It made her very strong, as meeting strangers meant being ignored, disrespected and what not.

She took her chair as her colleagues greeted her, some gave her a look of concern at her swollen eyes but nobody questioned, and she was glad for it.Her mind wandered to last week.
