Chapter 2 - Clouds On The Horizon

The guild was quiet after Wendy's attack, just the faint grunts of the Twilight Ogre's members who were still lying on the floor could be heard. Teebo managed to regain his footing, looking directly at the Dragon Slayer. Wendy's silence was heavy, her eyes narrowed in irritation, yet she held herself together, barely concealing her rising anger. Teebo, fully aware of his disadvantage against Wendy, attempted to wield the debt Fairy Tail owed Twilight Ogre like a weapon.

"What do you think you are doing, Huh? Have you forgotten that your guild still has a debt to ours? If it wasn't for our help, Fairy Tail would have disappeared years ago" Wendy's response was a silent, seething glare. Teebo mistook her silence for submission, his smirk widening. "Fairy Tail's glory days are long gone," Teebo taunted, a smug grin spreading across his face, thinking he had the upper hand. Wendy's fists clenched tightly at her sides, her patience wearing thin.

"It's probably for the best that those who vanished never see how low you've—" His words were cut short as Wendy's hand shot out, gripping him firmly by the collar. "Enough," she said, her voice low and menacing

The members of Twilight Ogre stirred, their expressions a mix of concern and defiance, but Wendy silenced them with a single glare.

"Do you think you could come to my guild, insult my family, harm my master, attempt to manipulate me, and face no repercussions? Not today" Teebo didn't respond, his mouth open and closed like a fish out of water. "Let's make this crystal clear: we did not agree to the new payment terms. Understood?" Wendy's voice was steely and commanding.

Releasing her grip on Teebo's shirt, he stumbled backward. The air around Wendy reacted to her emotions, wind like that of a hurricane around her. "Now leave, before I change my mind," Wendy declared, her voice cold and final.

With a flurry of curses and grumbles, the Twilight Ogre members hastily fled the guild, disappearing into the distance in a cloud of dust.

As the tension began to dissipate, Fairy Tail fell into an uneasy silence. No one had seen Wendy this enraged before, except for Panther Lily. He couldn't help but chuckle at the sight before bursting into laughter.

"Wow, Wendy, you channeled your inner Gajeel with that one, didn't ya?" Panther Lily teased, his laughter echoing through the guild hall. Wendy's anger transformed into self-awareness, and blushed realizing that her emotions got the better of her "I-I got frustrated! It was a normal reaction, I wasn't reacting like Gajeel" she defended her action

Lisanna couldn't resist joining in on the teasing. "Like Gajeel? I said she pulled out a Natsu" she remarked, a playful smirk on her lips. "Do all Dragon Slayers have that protective instinct inside, huh? I think it's cute" she added, crossing her arms and casting a knowing glance at Wendy.

Romeo chimed in, adding to the banter with a smirk. "Sure, because using 'Sky Dragon's Roar' to stop a fight is a normal reaction," he quipped, his hand casually resting behind his neck.

Unable to bear the embarrassment, Wendy covered her face with her hands, her blue hair contrasting with her reddening cheeks, much to the amusement of the rest of the guild. It served as a reminder that despite her growth and strength, Wendy was still the shy and polite girl who had joined the guild seven years ago.

"You showed them that even when we're few, we're still a formidable force," Macao's voice cut through the laughter, drawing Wendy's attention. She looked up, meeting his gaze, and heard his words of approval. "You did good, Wendy," he continued, his tone filled with pride.

Wendy smiled gratefully at hearing Macao's words, feeling a sense of pride and reassurance wash over her. As she scratched the back of her neck in a gesture of modesty, she looked around the guild hall, taking in the aftermath of her attack.
