Aiden POV.
I woke up later than usual.
Not sure why.
Instead of my usual 6am wake up time, I woke up at 9am.
Perhaps I would've slept longer if my ringtone hadn't woken me up.
I sat up from my bed, my body riddled with exhaustion.
I couldn't remember how exactly I collapsed in bed, whether I had comfortably laid myself in bed or I had just jumped in out of pure exhaustion were things I couldn't remember.
Maybe I slept so long because of how hectic yesterday was.
Was I really that out of shape?
No, that man was simply stronger than anyone I'd ever faced in my life.
Surely this wasn't a matter of me just having gotten rusty due to my reluctance to engage in intense physical activity in contrast to my high school days.
Nevertheless, I should probably answer my phone, shouldn't I?
With the little energy I had, I reached out to my nightstand and grabbed my phone.
The moment I did so, I fell straight back into my pillow.
Without even looking at who was calling, I swiped the call button and answered the call, quickly putting it on speaker mode.
What followed was silence.
I didn't check who it was that called, and I was too lazy to do so in the first place.
Whoever called, if urgent would speak regardless of whether I said the customary "hello" or not so I acknowledged that I didn't have to be the one to speak first.
If what they had to say wasn't urgent then I they would either drop the call after enough time had passed or simply left it there as I quietly fall back into the confines of my peaceful slumber.
Several seconds passed, yet none of us spoke.
I couldn't get frustrated, had I had the energy I probably would've questioned who this idiot was.
But due to such a thought I already had an idea of who it was that called.
My ears picked up the sound of someone taking in a deep breath.
Oh no.
"AIDEN!!!!!!!" A voice screamed from my phone.
I made a mistake putting it on speaker mode.
I was also too slow to cover my ears, a fatal mistake.
Regardless, the voice confirmed my 99% assumption and made it 100%
I sighed.
"What do you want, Stephanie?" I asked in a tired tone.
"Oh no, did I wake you up?" She sounded worried.
"Yes, you did." I admitted.
Although I lie when necessary, I wasn't going to gain anything here by lying.
Courtesy?
Being nice?
And just what would that give me?
"Huh? Aren't you supposed to say, "oh no you didn't, what's wrong?" why do you have to act so cold in the morning?" She responded.
I could imagine her pouting in my head, the thought made my heart flutter and my body for a moment felt energized.
"No. So, what's up?" I asked again.
"Hmpf! I just wanted to invite you to my place so we can study, or I can come to yours." She said.
