You stood in front of the mirror, adjusting your tie with practiced fingers and brushing a speck of dust from your suit jacket. It had been months since you first started venturing into the system-generated dungeons━months of battles, close calls, and hard-earned victories. You weren't the same person who once walked through those gates trembling with uncertainty. Now, with all the experience you'd gained and the levels you'd pushed through, it felt like the right time to question the label the Association had stamped on you.

E-rank. Just saying it in your head felt insulting.

For a while, you considered staying quiet, keeping your rank under wraps. It was safer that way━no expectations, no eyes watching, waiting for you to fail. But the thought lingered: what if you're selling yourself short? What if a re-evaluation not only raised your rank but opened doors you hadn't dared to knock on before?

With that in mind, you hailed a cab and made your way to the Korean Hunter's Association headquarters. The ride was quiet, filled with thoughts swirling like a storm. When the car finally pulled up in front of the towering building, you stepped out, straightened your back━and then froze.

Something was off.

A presence hit you like a wave. It wasn't oppressive or violent. Quite the opposite━it was subtle, like a shadow at twilight. Dark, yes, but not suffocating. It tugged at you gently, like a whisper in your ear that only you could hear.

You didn't know what it was or where it came from. But your feet started moving, as if they no longer needed your permission. Every step pulled you further away from the front doors of the Association and toward... something else. Somewhere unfamiliar, yet eerily known.

And though you couldn't explain it, deep down, you felt it━whatever waited for you at the end of this path wasn't random.

It was calling you.

Sung Jeongyeon had just arrived at the Korean Hunter's Association building, the familiar weight of anticipation sitting squarely on her shoulders. After clearing the infamous Demon's Castle━a few Hunters could even dream of━she knew it was time. A re-evaluation wasn't just necessary; it was overdue.

As she approached the grand entrance, one hand reaching for the glass door, she suddenly stopped in her tracks.

Something stirred in the air.

It wasn't threatening. Quite the opposite━it wrapped around her like a soft breeze on a warm spring day. The presence was gentle, comforting. Almost... inviting.

She turned her head slowly, her brows knitting together in confusion. And yet, somewhere deep within her, the feeling wasn't unfamiliar. It was like recognizing a face you've never seen before.

Then, as if pulled by invisible threads, her feet began to move━not toward the entrance, but away from it. She didn't question it. Some part of her knew exactly where she was going, even if her mind hadn't caught up.

She walked until her steps faltered on their own, stopping just a few feet away from a young man who looked like he had stepped out of a dream. He stood there, ethereal━long, moonlit white hair cascading past his shoulders, eyes as vivid and deep as sapphires. His very presence radiated warmth and calm, and to her, it felt like standing in front of the personification of the sun.

At the same moment, you━still following the mysterious pull━had also come to a halt.

And there she was.

The girl that was standing before you is mesmerizing. Her hair, jet black and tied into a high ponytail, swayed gently in the breeze. Stray bangs framed her face like brushstrokes on a canvas, drawing attention to her piercing silver-grey eyes. There was an aura of shadow around her, yes, but it didn't feel ominous. It only made her look more divine━like a goddess who ruled the night sky.
