Grim's POV
"You did what?!" I shouted at James. He was standing in front of me with his arms crossed and a worried expression on his face.
"I told Rose that I was a ghost and I told her how I died, he repeated.
"And how did she take that? Did she believe you?" I asked. I was curious as to how Rose handled surprises and if she believed in stuff like ghosts. I wanted so bad to reveal myself to her. I wanted her to know who I was.
"She believed me and she looked a little surprised. But that isn't the point!" James stomped his foot in frustration.
"What was the point?" I asked, balancing my sythe in my left hand.
"Rose is in danger!" James yelled at me. He was loosing his patience with my lack of attention. I couldn't help it. I was thinking about how beautiful Rose was. But him saying that was like a slap in the face.
"Say what?!" I exclaimed.
"Rose is in danger. The same person who killed me is targeting her now. He will probably attempt to kill her soon." I was now positively fuming. Nobody dared threaten a hair on her head. I would kill them first. The only problem though, was that there were restrictions for being a grim reaper. I wasn't allowed to kill unless they were supposed to die.
"I'm going to need your help to protect her then. You need to be by her side all day everyday. If she dies, I swear you will regret it!" I growled.
"Okay." James nodded, humbled by my fury.
"Leave me now." I snapped. I wanted to be alone so I could calm down. I made a vow then and there that I'd keep an eye out for this Mr. Westfield and make sure I was the one to kill him when the time came.
Rose's POV
I sat on my bed, thinking about what I'd just learned. In just one day, my life had been turned upside down and inside out. I had this feeling though, that I didn't even know half of what was going on. Weasley had curled up on my lap and was purring loudly. I scratched him absent-mindedly and that's when I felt an icy cold presence enter my room. I grabbed my knife again but it turned out to be James who had floated in through the window.
"You're back!" I exclaimed, surprised. "Where did you go?"
"Um...I had to talk to someone."
"Who?! Another ghost?!" I asked, leaning forward eagerly.
"Kind of, I suppose. I needed advice." He muttered, looking down. There was something he wasn't telling me and I knew it. He didn't want me to know who he had been talking to.
"About what?" I asked, tilting my head to the side curiously.
"About whether a ghost is allowed to follow a human to protect them. I'm staying with you until I'm absolutely sure you're safe." James replied, only telling me half the truth. I knew that if he ever left suddenly, I'd follow him, just to see who he kept going to meet.
"It's not necessary." I muttered. "I can take care of myself."
James chuckled wryly. "You're so stubborn. I'm going to protect you. You can't get rid of me, so you might as well live with it."
I knew he was right but I didn't want him protecting me because he thought I would be to weak to. "I'm not weak you know!" I exclaimed exasperated.
"I know but extra protection wouldn't hurt." James said, now getting desperate for some reason.
"Why do you want to protect me so badly?" I asked suspiciously. "You only met me yesterday."
"I just feel it's my duty." He said. "Please?" He asked, giving me a very cute look. I finally gave in after endless pleading from him. He seemed relieved that he got me to come around. It seemed to me strange things were happening.
A/N: Short chapter but it's just a filler. Let me know what you think. :D
