Imperfect

"Hm,hm,hm" I hummed along with the lyrics playing in my headphones. I was sitting on my bed sketching as usual,I had my curtains open in my room letting in the morning light.

While sitting there I had felt a presence but I just ignored it until I seen a hand waving in front of me,I jumped a little as I looked up.

"Hello? Princess?"

Those were the only words I could make out before taking my headphones off and leaping up for a hug.

"Daniel!" I hugged him tight for a good minute until he sat me down on my bed. "Sorry." I chuckled "I keep forgetting these things are sound proof too."
"Oh these are for you princess." He handed me a pretty bouquet of flowers,I sniffed them but then I- "Acho! Excuse me- Acho!" Daniel began laughing then walked over to me. "Sorry I had to." I looked at him confused "Hm? What do you mean?" He pulled out a bottle of sneezing powder from his hoodie pocket. "Why'd you do that?" "Calm down Aubri. It was just a damn joke." "Sorry if I upset you-" "There you go with that sorry shit! Just stop you sound like a little bitch!"

Those words cut deep,I tried not to cry as I blinked back my tears. He continued yelling and calling me names,he then looked at me and got mad. I scooted over,knowing what was about to happen. He raised his hand then next thing I know I was crying in a corner on the floor.

I was kinda sad because my dad had work all week which meant Daniel had planned on staying the night. I finally got up and tried to sneak past him in the living room. "Get me a water" I heard as I entered the kitchen. I just ignored it and looked in the cabinet for some snacks. Before I could even take my next breath I felt my arms being pulled and then slammed against the wall.

"I thought I said get me water!" I felt my lip trembling as I was forced to look him in the eye. "So why didn't you get it?" I whimpered before I could open my mouth to respond,then as I felt his arm release mine,my stomach dropped. All I saw a fist coming towards my face then stomach,I then fell and felt one more punch before everything went dark.

"Back.."

Hours later, I heard my phone vibrating but it was across the kitchen. I sighed after realizing Daniel had left. I cried more then froze when I heard the door open,then slam after a few foot steps.

I couldn't see the person entering the kitchen but I saw shoes and knew it wasn't Daniel because they were a bigger size.

"Ma! What happened?!" I tried to respond but I couldn't I just grabbed the person and they laid me on the couch they walked away to grab my shoes and phone then gave me some water. "Where is he ma?" My eyes shot open as I realized what his last words were. "He'll be back!" I said. The person picked me up and carried me into their car. I heard the seat recline and they laid me on it the covered me with a soft blanket.
