Clarke watched, utterly shaken at the single word response, as Lexa gets further and further away. The brunette gave only a passing glance over her shoulder as she turned the corner at the end of the street.

Silence has never been quite this loud.

Her phone is out as soon as Lexa is out of sight.

Clarke can feel it, the shift

Clarke can feel it, the shift. The deadened look in  Lexa's eyes, the stillness, the lack of fight. It was like some bad dream. Everything seems to have changed after that game night, not just for her, but for the whole group.

Most of them are walking out of the house to leave when she makes it back down the street. Monty and Harper give sympathetic nods, while Murphy, Jasper, and Bellamy murmur meek apologies to Clarke as they head to their cars.

Luna then comes to meet her outside.

"Hey Clarke, maybe just hang out here for a sec with me?"

At first she's confused, but soon picks up the muffled argument taking place inside.

"I was planning to invite her no matter WHERE it was at! I can't help that you all decided to host it here tonight! I thought you just invited Lexa on principal I didn't think she'd actually show!"

Clarke sees the discomfort on Luna's face.

"I'm sorry," Clarke says with a sigh, "It's not your fault."

She's still only thinking about the look on Lexa's face though, before she turned to walk away. The dismay even the girl's best acting skills couldn't fully cover up.

Had she been struggling to hold it all in the whole night?

"I didn't know..." Luna says, stepping up to Clarke to reach out for her hands, "...That this was her house...Raven only said Lincoln and Octavia's and I didn't think..."

Clarke leans in to wrap her arms around the brunette for a hug, moreso for herself than for Luna, who continues trying to apologize.

"I wouldn't have come had I known..."

She wishes so badly that she had wrapped up Lexa like this, and hadn't let her walk away.  Whether Lexa accepted it or not. She should have just done it. As Clarke squeezes tighter around Luna, it's the other brunette she's thinking of when she responds.

"I'm so, so sorry.... It's not your fault." She nuzzles further into the girl's shoulder to fight the wetness building in her eyes.

"It's not your fault." She repeats.

"It's okay..." Says Luna, hearing the crack in the blonde's voice, "Hey...I'm okay." She rubs her hands over Clarke's back trying to soothe her, but the raised voices continue their heated exchange inside.

"It's not like I said anything that WASN'T true!" Raven yells from what sounds like the kitchen. Anya's voice is harder to hear, but harsh as she continues laying into Raven over how things had escalated unnecessarily.
