After bidding Shubman goodnight and retreating to her room, Saumya couldn't contain the excitement bubbling within her. With a grin stretching across her face, she flopped down onto her bed, reaching for her phone to dial her best friend Anya's number.

The phone rang a few times before Anya picked up, her voice filled with warmth. "Hey, Saumya! What's up?"

Saumya practically squealed with excitement, jumping on her bed as she spoke. "Oh my god, Anya, you won't believe what just happened! I ran into Shubman again, and we actually became friends again!"

Anya's laughter echoed through the phone. "No way! I thought you two were sworn enemies or something."

Saumya rolled her eyes, still grinning from ear to ear. "I know, right? But tonight was different. We had this grand dinner event, and we ended up sitting next to each other and talking. And then he even walked me back to my room!!"

Anya's gasp of surprise was audible. "Shut up! Did you exchange numbers?"

Saumya's grin widened. "Yes! Can you believe it? Shubman Gill and I, exchanging numbers! It's like a Bollywood movie!"

Anya chuckled, her voice filled with amusement. "Well, stranger things have happened. Maybe this is the start of a beautiful friendship."

Saumya's heart swelled with warmth. "I hope so. It's like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders, you know? And to think, it all started with a torn page from a book!"

Anya couldn't help but laugh at the absurdity of it all. "Only you, Saumya. Only you could turn a torn page into a friendship."

As Saumya continued to pour out her excitement and recount every detail of her evening to Anya, she couldn't help but feel a sense of gratitude for her best friend's unwavering support.

Saumya ended her call with Anya, her heart still racing with excitement. She glanced down at her navy blue dress, realizing she was still dressed for the formal dinner. With a grin, she jumped off the bed and headed to her wardrobe, eager to slip into something more comfortable.

As she rummaged through her clothes, a soft knock on the door interrupted her thoughts. Curious, Saumya made her way to the door and opened it, her eyes widening in surprise at the sight of Shubman standing there.

He looked different from earlier, now dressed in a simple white t-shirt and black shorts. Saumya couldn't help but notice the casual ease in his demeanor, a stark contrast to the polished cricketer she had seen earlier.

"Hey, Shubman," she greeted him, a smile spreading across her face. "Come on in."

Shubman entered her room, his gaze sweeping over the cozy space before settling on Saumya. "Hey, Saumya. Mind if I sit?"

"Of course not," Saumya replied, gesturing towards the bed. Shubman took a seat, and Saumya settled beside him, the air between them charged with a mix of excitement and uncertainty.

"So, how's the night treating you?" Saumya asked, breaking the silence. Shubman smiled, a hint of nervousness in his expression. "Honestly, it's been pretty great. I never expected things to turn out like this." Saumya nodded in agreement. "Yeah, me neither. But I'm glad they did."

As they talked, Shubman reached into his pocket, his fingers curling around something small and delicate. Saumya watched with curiosity as he pulled out a familiar-looking bracelet, her heart skipping a beat at the sight of it.
