The Departure and The Growth

You woke up, sweating from the nightmare, it was only 3am so no one else was awake, at least that's what you thought, you went out to get yourself some water and took the glass with you to the garden at the back and sat down on the grass, alone with your thoughts

"I miss you Nick"
That's all the words that managed to come out of your mouth as you lets your tears out, covering you face with your knees; you had been sitting there for a while, in your thoughts when you heard the door open

"I told you to call me if you couldn't sleep"
You looked up at the tall figure as he sat down, very well, the one person you were trying to avoid

"Tell me now, what's going on in your mind?"
He said making you look at him while he was looking at the night sky, full of stars

"Oppa, you should stay away from me"
You said as you looked back down, tears falling slowly, down on your cheeks, you sniffed

"I'm not the person you think I am, I end up ruining every good thing"
You looked back at him, as he was already looking at you with his boba eyes

"I care too much about you to let you stay with me"
He turned around to you as he came closer

"There's nothing in this world that could keep me away from you Y/n"
He said holding your cheeks

"I care too much about you to leave you"
He said, making more tears fall down from your eyes

"I love you, I always have and always will"
As he said that, you both leaned in, combining your lips, closing your eyes, feeling the deja vu of this moment as more tears rolled down your eyes, goosebumps, heart racing, the rush of different emotions

- The summer of 2024

You finally graduated, with classmates a year older than you, Jongho, your parents, Mingi, Seonghwa and Seulgi, who still had one year left of school, came to your ceremony; after the ceremony, you ran up to your family and hugged your mum and dad

"Aigooo, my Y/nie is all grown up now"
"Mum, dad, look at this!"
You exclaimed as you showed her your certificate

"Wow, my baby sister is all grown up now"
Jongho said, making you look up at him

"Good lord, don't be such a cry baby"
You said to the weepy guy as you hugged him and wiped his tears

"Congratulations Y/nie"
Seonghwa said as he gave you a gentle hug

"Thank you oppa"
You said breaking the hug, looking at the last person, Mingi, it would be hard to stay normal around him, thinking about last night

"You will leave for London next month right?"
Your dad asked, making you turn towards him

"Yes dad"
"Wait, that early?"
Mingi exclaimed, realising his reaction was a little odd, he tried to save it by saying

"I-I mean, shouldn't you enjoy some time of freedom before you go study again"
Nice save, you thought as you replied

"Oppa, I will have to, I need to be fast, I don't spend by life slacking around, I wanna get my diploma so I can start my career as soon as possible"
Your charisma making everyone speechless, if only they had known that you lose all of it once you go to London

- The day you left

You all went to the airport, with the same people who came to your graduation day, the people who were closest to you, Jongho had other friends but you only knew Seonghwa and Mingi the most

"I can't believe you're leaving"
Seulgi said, crying, as she hugged you, you hugged her back tightly, both of you letting your tears out, soon breaking the hug, wiping your tears

"I'm leaving now"
You said, waving at everyone, trying not to look at Mingi, as you didn't say goodbye to him properly, you turned around, letting your tears flow down slowly, you thought about how stupid you were

- The day before your graduation

"Oppa, I love you"
"I love you too sweetheart"
"Not like that oppa"
You said, making eye contact with him

"Sweetheart, you're too young, and I have a girlfriend"
"Right, that Hyerin girl"
You said looking down

"I love her Y/n, and also, you're too young"
"I get your point oppa"
You said as you left

- Back to the airport

Everyone turned around and walked away, but Mingi was standing there, watching you walk away, he couldn't stand it and ran after you, no one but Seonghwa noticed him running

"Y/n wait"
He said as you were about to enter the security check zone; you turned around as he was pacing up to you

"Oppa, what are-"
You were cut off by him pressing his lips against yours, you widened your eyes but slowly melted into the kiss, his lips felt as soft as a peach, your heart racing fast, your first love kissing you, saying all the things he couldn't with words, you broke the kiss as he hugged you

"You have no idea how much I love you Y/n"
"What about your girlfriend oppa?"
"Hyerin? I broke up with her, I realised that I could never love anyone as much as you, please come back from London fast"
"I will oppa, don't worry"
You said as you smiled at him, breaking the hug

"I'll be waiting for you"

- A week before this

"I can't believe you're breaking up with me"
The female said, hitting Mingi's chest

"I can't love you, I don't deserve to, I've ruined you, me leaving will be the best for both of us"
"What about how I was there for you every moment you needed me"
"Did it do any good to either of us? I'm still fucked up and I fucked you up in the process, I used you, I thought I could move on from my parents' divorce by relying on you, but I couldn't, could I? And that Y/n you keep calling a bitch, she managed to make my life easier by just being a little part of it, I love her, and I don't think that we should keep dating if I love someone else"
She couldn't speak, she just sat down on the couch and held her chest, crying badly; Mingi ruined a perfectly good woman, she was so bright and lively before she met Mingi and Mingi could only blame himself, there were two reasons for this breakup, one was that Mingi loved you more than his own girlfriend, and the second was that, he wanted to let her go so she could get better, to not ruin her more

- Back at the airport

You walked away as Mingi watched you go, not forgetting to look back one last time and wave at him

"I'm gonna get better for you, when you come back, I'm gonna be a person who deserves you"
Saying that, Mingi left the airport
