Stinkapoo, axe in hand, took a deep breath, determined to confront the shadows that haunted him. The air buzzed with anticipation as he, Dan, Charlie and Lily were ready to set foot into the infested parts of Glynne. A barricade had been set up previously by Archie, Mike, Jenny and Daurine previously when they were there, blocking the entrance to the corridor. Dan and Lily began dismantling it as Stinkapoo remainded idle and his thoughts ran wild. His mind was a battleground of conflicting emotions. He tightened his grip of the axe, memories of Rose, the betrayal and recent events all clouded his mind. The rhythmic clatter of debris being moved from the door mirrored the disarray of his own mind. Charlie then turned to Stinkapoo, "If it gets too much for you, just let us know, you can go back." He reassured.
"It won't. I'm gonna slaughter every single one of them. I know what i'm doing" Spoke Stinkapoo coldly. Charlie's expression turned concerned. Dan and Lily had then removed the barrier. Dan opened the door a creek and could see quite a number of the undead, their groaning filled the corridor. "Right, we ready guys?" Spoke Dan with determination. Stinkapoo firmly nodded, still clenching the axe. Lily turned to Dan, "Yeah, come on let's do this" She spoke. Dan smiled and nodded at her. Charlie stood beside Dan and Lily with Stinkapoo closely behind. "Here we go." Uttered Charlie, apprehension etched on his face. As they entered the corridor, the undead became clear in vision. The four pressed forward, weapons in hand. The eyes of the undead, fixated on the group. Stinkapoo's heart pounded in his chest, a mix of fear and anger, yet his determination to confront his demons pushed him forward. Fueled by a surge of adrenaline, he swung the axe with a fierce intensity, each strike bringing him closer to a sense of catharsis. The gruesome scene unfolded as the trio battled the undead. The air became heavy with the metallic scent of blood as Stinkapoo's axe cleaved through decaying flesh. Each strike sent splatters of crimson staining the walls, a macabre display of violence in the dimly lit corridor .Dan and Lily, fought in tandem with Stinkapoo. Their weapons moved with precision, severing limbs and silencing the guttural moans of the undead. The trio moved as one, a well-coordinated dance of survival in the face of relentless adversaries. Meanwhile, Charlie, stationed a bit farther away, expertly aimed his bow, sending arrows flying through the air. His shots were precise, targeting undead threats with lethal accuracy. The twang of the bowstring echoed in the corridor, adding a rhythm to the chaotic symphony of battle. Blood sprayed across the surfaces, an unsettling canvas reflecting the brutality of the conflict. The group pressed forward, their resolve unshaken, as they cleared each section of the school with methodical determination. "Try not to rush in there mate, it's almost as if you're trying to get yourself killed." Warned Dan. "I'm still alive aren't I?" Returned Stinkapoo coldly, the violence seeming to have awakened something inside him. "Shit guys, more incoming" Alerted Lily. As they approached, Lily armed with a metal pipe swung at one of the undead from the side, smashing it's skull with a sickening crunch. "Watch out Dan!" Yelled Charlie as he shot his arrows at an undead close by to Dan. "Shit... thanks!" Exclaimed Dan as he put his thumb up to Charlie. Stinkapoo's axe cleaved through the air, each swing a forceful declaration against the encroaching darkness. "No fucking mercy for these bastards," he growled, the intensity in his voice matching the ferocity of his attacks. "Stay focused, guys! We've got this," Dan shouted, rallying his companions. The remaining few undead in the vicinity had been taken out, causing the four to take a moment to catch their breath, each of them covered in blood. Stinkapoo lowered his blood-stained axe, his chest rising and falling with each breath. "Jeez... that felt good," he admitted, his voice carrying a mix of exhaustion and relief. "You did great man, facing your fears like that takes courage" Praised Charlie as he began retrieving his arrows planted in the skulls of the undead. "Yeah you didnt do so bad yourself" Chuckled Stinkapoo weakly. Lily wiped blood from her face with the back of her hand, exhausted. "You okay?" Asked Dan. "God... yeah, Dan. It's just... we used to come here when we were kids and it was all so happy and carefree... now look... its just all violence and blood everywhere... fucking hell" Confided Lily taking a deep breath. Dan nodded understanding, placing his hand on her shoulder. "I know Lily, it doesnt feel real." A tear trickled down her cheek as she weakly smiled at Dan. "All being well, we'll be able to secure this place, and try and make it somewhat how it used to be" Chimed Charlie. "Yeah, I hope so." Murmured Lily. "No... we will, okay? We will" Ensured Dan. Stinkapoo, still gripping his blood-soaked axe, with the weight of the past and present visible in his eyes began to speak up. "We gotta keep moving, we can't just stand around. We need to get rid of them all" He spoke sternly. The determination in Stinkapoo's voice initated the group to go further. They began continuing to navigate the rest of the school. With Stinkapoo and Charlie infront and Dan and Lily hanging back a bit as they were talking. "At least uh, we're not alone in this. We've got each other." Persisted Dan. "Y-yeah, I know" She returned as she wiped away more blood and sweat from her face. Dan's eyes were fixated on Lily. She then looked to the ground as she continued to talk, "It's just uhh... you've always been there, Dan. Throughout all this. It's bought us both closer than ever." Dan went even redder than he already was from all the fighting, "I... uhh... yeah, no, yeah I agree" He spluttered. Charlie overheard the conversation and turned round and childishly smirked at Dan.
Lily looked up and noticed Charlie, causing her to go bright red aswell. "You guys are like two tomatoes" Snickered Charlie. "Hey man, come on shh" Laughed Dan nervously. Stinkapoo remainded silent, overhearing everything. The playful banter about Dan and Lily only made him think of Rose even more, and the fact he wouldn't be able to experience those sort of things with her again. "Guys, look." Uttered Stinkapoo. Everyone froze in fear, snapping back to seriousness. A loud but distant noise of groaning could be heard. They followed the noise only for it to lead them to the assembly hall. Each of them gazed through the double doors only to reveal a huge hoard of them in there. The sight sent shivers down their spines, they had never seen this many of the undead all at once. The groans and moans echoed as the four's minds began racing on how they could possibly tackle the huge predicament.
