The Rise To The Top

Part 1

I woke up to my roommate, Sydney yelling "Emelia! Get up! We're gonna be late for our first day of freshman year" I got up and picked my outfit for school.

I walked downstairs to see my other roommate, Sofia making breakfast "what's up, you excited to tryout for the dance team today" "whose not? C'mon we're all gonna try" "yeah" "we're all gonna make the team" Sofia said "well yeah ..were that good"  "yeah" we grabbed our backpacks and started walking to school.

On our walk, a group of boys came out of a house and started walking on the other side of the road from us. I looked over and saw they were pointing and staring at us "what are they looking at?" I asked "you, you're hot" Syd said "it's not only me, we're all hot" "true" the boys called out "hey!" While running up to us "what's up, you girls new?" The blond one said "yeah, were freshman's" "oooh finally cute girls close to our age" one of the others said "Landon please every girl in school is close to our age" the brunette one said "yeah ..but none of them as cute as this group" he said smiling at Syd. The brunette one then ran up behind him and jumped on his shoulders, then ran and Landon chased him. We all laughed and the blond one walked up beside me "I'm sorry about them, theyre brothers and little bit of idiots" "hey! I heard that" Landon said "shut up" he looked back at me "I'm Jaxon, that's Andrew and obviously Landon" "I'm Emelia, that's Sydney and Sofia" he softly smiled "so what grade are you?" "Sophomore " "oh, so you're about a year older" "yeah" They kept walking and talking with us till we got to school, they showed us the way to the principle and then they headed off to class. "Welcome, Emelia, Sydney and Sofia, to our lovely high school, here you'll find a possibility for whatever you wanna be" "so like a dancer?" "Yes, we have a great dance team, tryouts are this afternoon during first lunch" "great" we got our schedules and the principle showed us around the school.

We all had the same classes, after the principle was done, we headed to our first class which was history. As we got our seats, everyone was looking at us "this is nerve racking" Sofia whispered "agreed" I said. We all chose seats in the back row, got out our books and wrote down the notes.

After class, we gathered all our stuff, then walked to English. On our way we passed by the boys again, Jaxon gave me a soft smile then went to class. I slightly smiled then walked to class.

Lunch time

Instead of going to lunch, we headed towards the gym for dance tryouts. As we walked in, Jaxon, Landon and Andrew called our names "hey Emelia!" We were slightly shocked "you guys are in dance?" "Yeah" "why" "cause we love dance, we also love to sing" "so do we" he smiled and the instructor called our attention "alright people, the football season will start soon, and we have to have all these dances down for the games" "isn't that for the cheerleaders?" One girl asked "we basically are the cheer team" "so we dance and cheer?" "Yes!" I leaned over and quietly asked Jaxon "what's next you're gonna tell me you play the football team too" "not yet but we will" he winked and I quickly looked away and blushed. The instructor gave us each 5 min for a personal performance to see if we qualify "ok, Emelia, Sydney and Sofia" we all walked up and got in position then started dancing. Everyone was in shocked, we kept hearing oo's, wooo's, wow, and the boys cheering "damn, theyre good" at one point we caught a glismp of the captain almost filled with anger, and the astonished looks on everyones faces.

When we were done with the dance, everyone screamed and the captain seemed annoyed "they were good" another girl said behind her "shut up" "they should be on the team" she looked like she didn't wanna but she accepted "fine they can join" we ..honestly weren't surprised. Soon after the boys went and they were almost as good as us "jeez" they got on too. A couple more people went after but they didn't make it, so it was just us, the boys and the original dance team.

She gave us a routine to try and we all did it very easily. By the time the hour was over, everyone seemed to know our names "what's going on" "you guys were awesome, you're the talk of the school now" Jaxon said "but we just danced" "news moves fast" "oh" we didn't know how to feel, the school was chanting our names "am I the only one who feels in the spotlight" Sofia asked "really? You're a dancer and you're afraid of this being the spotlight" Syd said "c'mon we started as nothing and in less then one day were popular" "yeah" Landon then came up and asked "hey, were having a back to school party at our house, wanna come?" Syd looked at me "sure" she smiled "we'll be there" "great, see you there" he said walking away smiling. We just kinda playfully rolled our eyes and walked to math.

After school, we walked home and the first thing Syd said was "what are we gonna wear?!" I giggled "idk ..what do you wear to a BTS (back to school, not the band) party?" "More like what do you wear to a cute guys party" Sofia smiled "ooo looks like someone's got a crush" "as if, were new, he's new, we don't even know each other" "yeah ..but that won't stop you" "I'm not gonna go out with him" she said, I smirked a little "she said while smiling" "shut up!" She playfully hit my arm and we all laughed then went upstairs to get dressed.
