After running for a while they stumbled upon stairs and Rose said "Stairs that's more like it! Hasn't got legs it's stuck!", and Solaris finally snapped out of her panic and focused on what was happening right now, although still able to hear her two hearts beating against her chest and being absolutely terrified.
"It's coming! Get up!" the guard shouted. After running up a few stairs they stopped and looked down waiting to see wether the dalek would be stuck.
It slowly came closer to the stairs stopping in front of them looking up. "Great big Alien death machine, defeated by a flight of stairs!" the guy that cam with Rose said.
"Now listen to me. I demand that you return to your cage. If you want to negotiate then I can guarantee that Mr Van Statten will be willing to talk. I accept that we imprisoned you, and maybe that was wrong. But people have died and that stops - right now. The killing stops, got that?" after the Dalek still didn't talk she added
"I demand that you surrender. Is that clear?""El.. e.. vate...!" the Dalek simply said starting to hover over the ground and then slowly up the stairs.
"Oh my God" Rose said and Solaris started to shiver, her breathing got even faster and she started to cry, afraid that she would die.
"Adam get them out of here!" the woman said.
"Come with us . You can't stop it." Rose argued.
"Someone's got to try. Now get out! Don't look back just run!" the woman replied, but Solaris couldn't move, her whole body was still shaking.
"Listen to me, we need to go! Everything will be alright, I promise!" Rose said taking Solaris's hand. She was still afraid, but looking at Rose smiling at her they started to run up the stairs together.
They heard gunshots and then screams as they continued running. Rose didn't let go of Solaris's hand and she was glad, as it made her feel slightly more safe.
After a few seconds they ran into a large room filled with soldiers holding guns. "Hold your fire!" one of them shouted. "You three get the hell out of there!" another man added.
They ran past the men and then stopped to look back. Solaris's grip on Roses hand tightened, and she shifted slightly behind her.
The Dalek slowly entered the room and started looking around and then focusing on Rose. Adam pulled them away and started running, but Rose said "It was looking at me."
"Yeah, it wants to slaughter us!"
"No, it was looking right at her!" Solaris repeated getting her breathing under control.
"So? It's just a sort of metal eye thing, it's looking all around." Adam argued.
"I don't know. It's like there's something inside looking at me, like... Like it knows me." Rose tried to explain.
"Come on." Adam said, and they continued running, beside hearing gunshots behind them.
They ran up a bunch of stairs and then Roses phone rang.
"This isn't the best Time!" Rose said and they coninued running up the stairs.
"Where are you?" Solaris was able to hear the Doctor say, because Rose put it on speaker.
"Level 49" Rose answsred.
"You've got to keep moving. The vault is being sealed off up at level 46." the Doctor replied.
"Can't you stop them closing?" Rose asked.
"I'm the one who's closing them. I can't wait and I can't help you. Now for God's sake, run!" the Doctor said and they ran, not stopping or slowing down once.
