I stepped through my front door after a really long day at my parents house. I hate them. They just.. piss me off a lot, you know? I barged through my front door and slammed my keys down, and kicked something in front of me.
"Evie.. Are you okay?" Mat asked, I yelled out, and just burst into tears. Mat rushed over to me. "Hey, hey.. it's alright... where does it hurt?" Mat asked, "It's... not... that..." I said through vigorous tears, "Hey... darling, deep breaths..." Mat spoke softly. I ended up letting it out into Mat's chest, I was shaking violently. "It's alright..." Mat soothed me. "Is it.. your parents?" Mat asked, I nodded, my eyes bloodshot. I made eye contact with Mat. "Oh, you poor bubba..." He stroked my forehead. "I'm here, I promise, Shhh..." Mat started patting my back.
"Do you wanna talk about what happened?" Mat spoke softly once more. I shook my head into Mat's chest, "I'm sorry, do you not want to think about it?" Mat apologised, I shook my head into Mat's chest again. "Alright." Mat spoke. I started crying again, "It's okay, you're alright..." He spoke in between some more shushing, "I've got you, bubba.." Mat calmed me down. "Relax... It's okay, sweetheart. I'm here." Mat managed to calm me down completely. "I hate them..." I sighed, "I know, darling." Mat started stroking my hair.
"Dinner?" Mat offered. I nodded in his arms. "Come on, then." I and Mat walked to the kitchen so I could pick my dinner. We cooked together and had a laugh. Mat really knew how to cheer me up or calm me down when I'm angry.
