" Nakul stop!" Madri tried to catch her eldest son. The calm Sahadeva who was sitting on a plank chuckled.
Nakula giggled once again slipping away from his mother's clutch. Suddenly he felt the ground beneath his little feet getting swept away, but yet he wasn't scared. Because, the person who picked him up was his father, Raja Pandu.
" Troubling Madri again?" He tickled his tummy making him to laugh aloud. Madri halted her steps and clapped her hands laughing.
" Pitashree!" Nakula barely uttering this with lots of pauses because of his uncontrolled laughter.
Sahadeva too ran towards his father. Pandu giggled and picked up both of his twin boys in his strong arms.
Both of them pecked either of his cheeks and hugged him. Madri's eyes filled witnessing this scene. Afterall, a part of her too has given the bliss of fatherhood to Pandu.
" Come on finish your meal, or else I won't allow you both and your brothers to play today " she said blinking her tears away.
" Nooo " boys pouted angrily.
" Alright, let me feed you both " Pandu sat down. Nakula floated to his mother's arms and snuggled into her chest.
Madri cuddled him and pecked his cheeks. The moment since she gave birth to her sons, she is enjoying her motherhood to core.
Pandu fed a morsel to Sahadev and then forwarded another morsel towards Nakula. He started munching it and again hid in Madri's chest.
Pandu giggled.
" Madri, Nakul is too much attached to you " he said.
" Any mistake?" Madri just countered back to his question.
" Madri, I asked Kunti about helping you to conceive again. But.." Pandu sighed.
" She refused, I know" She smiled caressing Sahadeva's hairs.
" I don't think I may love any more kids like these two. Nakula and Sahadeva gave me the title of a Mother and I am happy with it. I must thank Kunti for this. Expecting even more will only give sorrow " she said.
Little Sahadeva stood up to lighten the mood of his parents.
" My mother is soo beautiful " He said encircling his tiny arms around her neck.
" Really?" Madri exclaimed and pecked his cheeks.
" I don't think so, I know somebody else who looks more beautiful " Pandu stood up. Madri's brows arched.
" Yes, doe shaped eyes, silky hairs... Overall just like an apsara" Pandu said looking at Madri, teasing her.
" Oh really" Madri placed Nakula down and stood up.
Pandu and Madri started chasing each other as if they are newly married. Kids jumped and clapped with glee, looking at their parents playing like kids.
As they both moved away from their children, a terrific blaze of fire surrounded them making them to halt their actions. With in a second, the fire engulfed the couple who were embracing each other.
" AMMA!!" young lad Nakula, woke up screaming from his sleep. Everything happened was a dream of him, an Unwelcomed Dream.
" Nakula, are you alright?" Sahadeva, who was going through his own writings rushed towards him.
Nakula was shivering badly completely drenched with sweat. Sudden climate change in Drona ashrama brought fever to Nakula that day morning. Poor lad was sleeping tired when the dream greeted him.
" Nakula " the eldest Pandava, Yudhisthira made his way towards their room, followed by Bhimasena and Arjuna.
Yudhisthira wiped Nakula's face with a damp towel and rubbed his chest.
" What happened? Was it a nightmare?" He asked softly checking his temperature.
Nakula just nodded his head positively and hugged his eldest brother.
" It's alright Nakula, we are here don't worry " Arjuna patted his head.
" Fever has reduced already, would you like to eat anything?" Bhima asked with a smile, which is a rare thing. Bhima and Nakula often get indulged in cat fights for petty things.
" No bhrata I don't feel like eating " Nakula replied.
" Alright, Go to sleep. Sahadeva will take care of you. Today is our turn to gaurd the Ashram for we will be outside " Yudhisthira caressed his hairs and again made him to lie down on the mattress and left with the rest.
Sahadeva sat down next to him. Nakula sat up again.
" It wasn't just a nightmare. Right?" He asked.
Nakula just stared at him with a sad face.
" I am with you from mother's womb Nakul, I can understand you even if you don't speak a word " Sahadeva smiled.
" It was the dream of Amma right?" he pressed his shoulder softly.
Nakula nodded. " I miss her" he mumbled.
" Me too " Sahadeva sighed.
" Such a bliss it was in Satashringa. Amma, Pitashree, Mata Kunti, and us, living happily without anything. Who wanted this luxury? While we don't have our parents to see it" Nakula sighed.
" Remember, Amma wanted us to learn all possible weapons. How she sat and carved tiny swords, bows and arrows out of wood for us. We used do duel with Bhrata Bhim using them" Sahadeva laughed remembering the past. Nakula giggles too.
Nakula reached out for a sac and pulled out his gold chain, to which a beautiful ring having an emerald gem was clinging. The ring belonged to their beloved mother, Madri.
Nakula smiled caressing it.
" Anyways, past is past. We have Mata Kunti who love us a lot. We are lucky, we got two doting mothers" Sahadeva, replaced the chain back and kept the sac away.
" That's true " Nakula said and coughed a couple of times.
" Go to sleep " Sahadeva urged.
" Our brothers are awake, we can't sleep nicely here right? Let me stay awake as far as it's possible for me" Nakula smiled and wrapped a shawl around him.
Sahadeva resumed his works. Nakula stared outside at the dark sky. The thoughts of Madri, at times made him sad but everytime made him happy.
" Miss you Amma " He smiled.
