Pov: 3rd person
Among the burning rubble of this city, there was a boy who appeared to be around 6-7 years old with messy spiked black hair who opened his grey eyes to witness, what could only be described as, hell. The boy began to move and slowly stand up using non-burning rubble as leverage.
But as he stood successfully, his body screamed in pain.
His feet were numb; his arms and legs were trembling; his stomach was churning, his chest tightened, his vision blurred, and his heart was pounding like someone was using it as a drum.
The boy felt like he was going to die from the pain afflicting his body, but it didn't stop him.
As the boy tried to move away pain shot through him, but he wanted to escape, he NEEDED to escape this hell.
And thus his body moved, ignoring the pain he received.
He kept on moving and moving.
And never stopped for anything.
He passed men, women, animals, and his fellow children as they cried for help, HIS help. But the boy didn't care, the boy only cared for his survival and nothing else.
And thus he continued, trudging through this hellscape, ignoring all that would stop his survival.
The boy felt the accursed fire burn his flesh as it tried to take his mind, memories, and even his soul. The boy had already lost everything, he had already been thrown away and abandoned. He wasn't going to let this curse take little he had left.
He took back a hundredfold for every bit of his spirit the curse tried to take. As he did, his shadows shifted and turned as if he awoke something buried deep within.
The boy's body was strong, but it wasn't strong enough. The boy fell to the dirt, his body reached its limit. The boy's soul was strong enough to push back the curse, but his body was damaged and fatigued beyond what the boy could handle. The boy wasn't going to give up just yet, he instinctively raised his arms and put his hands in a sign.
