Fate.

Mostly defined as the unfolding of events beyond an individual's control, has long been a subject of fascination and contemplation.

It's commonly perceived as a predetermined path orchestrated by forces beyond human comprehension.

This concept, widely accepted in modern times, suggests that every event, whether favorable or adverse, is an inevitable consequence of one's destiny.

In contemporary society, challenging fate has become a prevalent theme across various platforms, from movies and books to TV shows and games. Many people resist the notion of being bound to a preordained course, preferring instead to carve their destinies.

Born into a world where predetermined roles and genetic inheritance seemed to dictate the future, was it destined to conform to a predetermined mold?

By suppressing emotions and embracing logic, people evolved beyond their initial constraints, surpassing expectations.

However, contradictorily, will following such a path mean one forbids their humanity in pursuit of their goal?

Was it not that such emotion differentiates us human beings from countless other organisms?

"Why is she still in school? Has the news reached the teachers yet?!" a voice murmured, dripping with gossip.

"Must be one of the 'leftover' pulling the string! I would not put it past her remaining 'fallen lineage' to do such a thing!" another voice chimed in, laden with disdain.

"Look at her trying to play the victim! I bet it will not be long before she shows her true face!"

Amidst the deafening cacophony of the classroom, a pair of amethyst-colored eyes shifted toward the whispering noises.

His daydreaming routine was interrupted as he inadvertently eavesdropped on the conversation, the topic swirling around the air like a tempest. Conversations about it could be seen everywhere, weaving through groups of students and slipping into the corridors like tendrils of smoke.

Honestly speaking? Not hearing about the news becomes a luxury at this point. He had jokingly wished that maybe a fortuitously occurring rain would finally put this fire hazard out.

Rarely does he pay attention to useless drama; he has recently been too preoccupied with his go-home-early club to care about other things. However, with the pervasive chatter across the school for almost a week regarding recent events, it was impossible to remain oblivious.

He believed it was about the recent economic fraud related to a conglomerate.

The CEO was convicted of clandestine illicit behavior, resulting in the deprivation of his liberty owing to a paucity of tangible or possibly any evidence.

Coincidentally, the CEO's daughter, Raiden Mei, formerly renowned as Queen of Thunder by his peers, had become the subject of scrutiny for her caretaker's presumably fault.

"I knew that Raiden's family always had something suspicious! My prediction was correct after all!" one voice declared triumphantly.

"Perhaps she bought silence with whatever remaining finance! After all, I heard their property has yet to be confiscated, and those connections run deep, I say! Maybe even the school's president and the principal are already under her palm!" another speculated.
