After the match, Mithra made her way to the players' area after the commentary, eager to congratulate Shubman on his outstanding performance personally. "Shubman, you were amazing out there!" Mithra exclaimed, weaving her way through the crowd to reach him.
Shubman turned towards her, his eyes sparkling with happiness. "Thanks, Mits! It feels great to contribute to the team's success."
She noticed how his face was flushed with exertion making Mithra rush to his side, concern etched on her features. "Are you okay, Shubman?" she asked, reaching out to touch his arm.Shubman nodded, a weary smile playing on his lips. "Just a bit tired, that's all. But it was worth it for the win."
Mithra smiled, relieved to see him in good spirits. "You played brilliantly out there, Shubman. I'm so proud of you."
Before she could say anything else, Shubman's shoelaces came undone, causing him to stumble slightly. Mithra quickly knelt down, her fingers deftly tying his laces with practiced ease.
"There you go," she said, her voice soft with affection. "All better now."
Shubman grinned, his eyes twinkling with gratitude. "Thanks, Mits. You always have my back, don't you?" Mithra nodded, a warm glow spreading through her chest. "Always, Shubman. Always."
As the crowd began to disperse, Shubman took Mithra's hand and led her onto the field, where they could have some privacy. They walked along the lush green grass, the stadium lights casting a soft glow around them.
"I couldn't have done it without your support, Mithra," Shubman said earnestly, his gaze meeting hers. "You've been there for me every step of the way, and I'm grateful for your friendship."
Mithra smiled, feeling a surge of affection for Shubman. "I'll always be your biggest fan, Shubman. You're destined for greatness, and I'll be by your side cheering you on every step of the way."
They lingered on the field for a while longer, lost in each other's company as they watched the sunset over the horizon. At that moment, surrounded by the echoes of cheers and the warmth of the evening breeze, Mithra knew that her bond with Shubman was something truly special.
