~The Journey Begins~

I woke up early the next morning. The sun was just peaking over the horizon when I got up.

Everyone was still sleeping peacefully, or as peacefully as they could with all the snoring.

I sat up on the couch and noticed that some one covered me up lastnight. After further inspection, I recognized it as Thorin's heavy fur coat. I blushed, realizing that he was the one that covered me.

Not wanting to disturb anyone, I put the coat on and tiptoed my way through the sleeping dwarves. I then made my way to the kitchen. Using what was left in the pantry, I decided to make breakfast for the dwarves. It was rather difficult considering that Thorin's coat was too big for me, but I did not want to take it off yet. It smelled wonderfully of earth, musk, and pipeweed.

I was so focused on cooking and the smell of Thorin's coat that I did not hear someone entering the kitchen until they spoke.

"I see that you have made good use out of my coat." Thorin's deep voice came from behind me.

I jumped, and I may or may not of squeaked in surprise. I quickly turned to see Thorin leaning against the door frame smirking at me. I could feel my face heating up, so I hid it in Thorin's coat.

I cleared my throat. "Yes, well... You were the one that so graciously covered me in it last night." I said boldly.

"Indeed. You looked cold, so I lent you my coat. I could barely sleep with your teeth chattering so much." He said, his smirk growing on his face.

I shot him a fake offended look. "I would have been fine." I said slipping the coat off. "You can have this back now. It is starting to get in the way of breakfast." I said as I handed him his coat.

His fingers brushed mine as he took the coat causing sparks to run up my hand from his. Our eyes locked for a minute. It was as if he felt the same thing just then.

I blushed and broke the look. I cleared my throat again and went back to making breakfast.

"Could you wake the others up? Breakfast is almost ready, and I know you wanted to leave early today." I said, looking at him over my shoulder.

He simply nodded and left to wake everyone up. I let out a sigh as he left. What was that dwarf doing to me?

~Small Time Skip~

After breakfast, the dwarves packed up their things and saddled their ponies.

I changed into some fresh traveling clothes before joining everyone outside.

I watch as the dwarves put their things on their ponies. It is then that I realize that I never tied up my pony overnight, and now she is nowhere to be seen.

I let out a frustrated sigh, cursing my stupidity.

"Where's your pony, miss Edin" Kili asked, walking up beside me with Fili on my other side. This caught the rest of the dwarves attention.

"I forgot to tie her up last night. But no worries, I shall call for her." I told them.

"Good luck, lassie! Your pony could be miles away by now." Bofur said skeptically. The rest of them looked at me doubtingly as well.
