Aadya lay down on her comfy bed, feeling satisfied after finishing her studies and dinner. As she snuggled deeper into the warmth of her comforter, the events of the day replayed in her mind, making her giggle.
She reached for her phone and played one of her favorite songs, "PAPER RINGS," mumbling the lyrics while snapping selfies on Snapchat. She never felt as pretty as she did today, especially after hearing Abir's words.
Her heart raced at the memory. His words had made her feel something she hadn't felt in a long time-special and seen. But then, doubt crept in.
"What if unhe hum rude lagne lage?" she mumbled to herself, getting out of bed and walking over to the large window in her room.
["What if he starts thinking that I am rude?"]
"Yaar Aadu, tujhe bhaagna nahi chahiye tha," she scolded herself. The overthinking took over, and the bubbly happiness she felt moments ago vanished.
She chewed her nails nervously, staring at her phone. "Should I text him? Should I not?"
Her mind was a whirlwind of thoughts when a notification popped up on her screen, making her jump at the sudden sound.
She gripped her phone tightly and unlocked the screen.
"Knock knock 🍭," read the text from Naksh. A small giggle escaped her lips. Naksh had a way of making her smile, always greeting her in his unique style.
"Boo! 🦫" she typed back, loving their little exchanges.
"Disturb to nahi kiya na maine?" Naksh asked, concerned about bothering her.
"Nahi to! 🤪" Aadya replied with their favorite weird emoji, which never failed to make them laugh.
