The three of us were at a random ice cream store, engaged in a debate over what to order.
"What if we just get a big tub of ice cream with every flavor?" Leanne suggested.
"Lee, we're not rich enough for that," I replied.
"So, if you actually had money, you'd do that?" Leah turned around to look at me.
"It's ice cream; of course, I would," I said, crossing my arms.
"Well, we gotta pick something. We've been here for 20 minutes," Leah remarked, turning back to the ice cream flavors.
"While you guys choose, I'm gonna go pee," Leanne said, walking away from us.
"What if we get mint chocolate chip, cookies and cream, and vanilla?" I suggested.
"So, toothpaste Oreos and nothing?" Leah looked at me skeptically.
"Hey! They taste good," I said, slightly offended.
"Uh huh," she responded. "Let's just get one flavor each," Leah suggested.
"As long as it's a big tub," I pointed out.
"Okay, fine, if you're down to hold that," she said.
"I'm gonna go ask Leanne what she wants," I told her and went to find Leanne.
As I walked toward the bathroom, I found Leanne talking to a guy in front of the bathroom door.
"Hey Leanne, Leah says she wants you to pick one ice cream flavor. We're getting big tubs for each of us," I informed her. Turning to look at the guy she was talking to, he seemed oddly familiar.
"Get me cotton candy," Leanne requested.
"Hey, you kinda look familiar?" the boy remarked.
"You too," I responded. "Do you know Miles?" Leanne asked me. I studied the guy more closely. "Wait... Miles? Like, Miles Matthews?" I questioned, and his face lit up.
"Lory!" he chuckled, and I joined in. "I haven't seen you since we did the Frozen play together?" I reminisced.
"Yeah, I moved here" he explained.
"I'm confused? " Leanne stared
"Lory and I used to be friends in elementary. We did plays together," Miles explained.
"And the Haribo commercial," I pointed out, and he chuckled. "But I moved here during 6th grade," he continued.
"How do you guys know each other?" I asked.
"Miles is a family friend. My dad is best friends with his," Leanne explained.
"Are you free at the moment? We're getting ice cream and walking around," I asked.
"Sure, I'll come," he said.
"Great!" I said as we both walked over to Leah.
"You guys took long. I got strawberry, mint chocolate chip, and cotton candy," Leah said, holding the ice cream.
"Thank god you got me what I want," Leanne said as she took the cotton candy tub.
I grabbed spoons and handed them to everyone, getting extras and putting them in my bag just in case. We went outside to walk.

As we were walking, catching up with Miles, Leanne, and Leah behind us, their giggles and antics filled the air, making me laugh too.
"Hey guys, let's go this way. I know a park!" Leah said, running ahead to take the lead.
As we strolled, we reached the park and settled down to enjoy our ice cream.
"So, you're telling me Friday is your birthday?" Miles looked at me.
"Yeah, turning 15 finally." I shrugged.
"Four more years till you're 18," Leah pointed out.
"Shush, don't remind me. I feel like I wasted my teen years being a loner. I never make friends. I was lucky enough to have Lee with me right now, but I'm scared to lose everyone like always. My friend Layla from home barely texts me anymore," I said, looking down at the ice cream.
"Hey, I'll never leave you!" Leanne said. "And you've got me. I'm your friend, and Miles too. You have us three!" Leah added."Make it four," a familiar voice chimed in behind me.
I turned around.
"Walker!" I exclaimed, getting up and wrapping my arms around his waist, his arms around my shoulders.A/n
