Gravity Falls: The return of Bill Cipher

-CHAPTER EIGHT- Aftermath

During the night. Pacifica was at my side whenever I needed emotional support. I had a few nightmares about what had happened to Wendy.

'Wendy!' I screamed. Pacifica woke up immediately.

'Dipper, its ok. I'm here. You are safe,' she said and placed my head in her lap. She stroked my hair.

'Thanks for calming me down, Pacifica,' I said.

'No problem, Dipper.'

'Let's try to get back to sleep. Tomorrow is going to be a long day,' I said. Pacifica climbed into her bed and pulled the covers across her shoulders. Within minutes we were both asleep.

The next morning Abuelita, Melody, Soos, Stan, Ford, Mabel, Pacifica, and I were in the living room watching the morning news hosted by news reporter Shandra Jimenz.

'Good morning, Gravity Falls, this is Shandra Jimenz reporting from Greasy's Diner. With me is the owner, Susan Wentworth. We will be covering yesterday's event. Susan, can you tell us about your experience yesterday?'

'No problem, Shandra. It happened around twelve o'clock. Zombies appeared out of nowhere, intent upon attacking two of our clients, Dipper and Wendy. I believe it was Preston that summoned the zombies. How they defeated them was strange indeed,' Susan said.

'Can you please tell us how they managed to do it?' Shandra asked.

'Mabel and her friends sang 'Taking over Tonight' and when they reached the end, all the zombies' heads exploded,' Susan answered.

'That's interesting. Were there any casualties?'

'One person was killed, but I'd rather not make it public as her loved ones are still dealing with the loss,' Susan answered looking uncomfortable.

'I understand; no pressure. There has also been a zombie attack at Gravity Falls mall. Toby Determined is there right now. Over to you, Toby,' Shandra said. There was a slight electronic hum, before Toby's face filled the screen.

'Thanks. Finally, I am in the thick of things. This is news reporter Toby Determined live from Gravity Falls mall. With me is the mall owner Andries Hendrik Marx. Andries, can you tell us about the events that transpired at the mall yesterday?' Toby asked.

'Sure. While I was walking around my mall yesterday, which I do every day in order to keep an eye on things, I noticed the zombies. They climbed out of the very ground we are now standing on. I ran to the furniture store where I saw a young teenager around the age of fifteen or sixteen take a sofa and smash a zombie to smithereens. She ran out of the store, yelling in a deep voice. When things calmed down. I went to the zombie's corpse. It had been demolished,' Andries answered.

'Anything else you can tell us?' Toby asked.

'No that's it,' Andries said. Toby looked crestfallen.

'Back to you, Shandra.'

'Thanks, Toby. That's it from the morning news team. Next up is the weather rapport,' Shandra said.

Stan turned off the TV and looked at Ford.

'Well Sixer, it's time to tell them about the plan,' he said.

'What plan ?' I asked.

'For a while now, we have expected Bill Cipher's return. So, on our travels, we discovered another way to kill Bill. Before we came back to Gravity Falls, we found ancient inscriptions which could lead to the location of a special crystal that we can weaponize to kill Bill once and for all,' Ford said.
