I was waiting for Wax Sherlock to show up. When he eventually did, I could see the shock in his eyes.

'Ah, Dipper looks like you outsmarted me,' he said.

'All I did was take the available short cut. It sucks that you chose the longest route.'

'You think you're so smart, but that doesn't change the fact that I want to kill Preston's brat.'

'What did you call my daughter? You're nothing but a discount Sherlock Holmes.'

'Fancy a proposal, Dipper?' Sherlock asked ignoring Preston.

'I'm listening,' I said.

'You obviously want the keys, and you already know I won't give them to you. You've also deduced that it would take an epic battle to relieve them from me. So, either you die, or I do.'

'That's fine with me, Sherlock.'

'I'm going to play fair. I won't use the laser gun,' Sherlock said placing the gun on the stone floor.

The two ran at each other with murder in their eyes. I punched Sherlock square on the jaw.

'Ow, you little shit!' Sherlock screamed in pain. My fist slammed into his soft stomach. Sherlock gasped. I stepped back and he lunged for the gun.

'Trying to play dirty again, I see. Bold move, Sherlock, bold move,' I said and stepped onto his hand. I could hear it crunch beneath my boot.

'Fuck!' Sherlock yelled. I yanked him off the floor and twisted his arm behind his back. He threw his head back, catching me on the chin. I took him down with me. We rolled on the floor, punching one another. Too late, I saw Sherlock reach for the bottom of his trousers. An extra knife had been hidden in a sheath that had been tied to his ankle. I swung my fist at him. He dodged, but I held him down and twisted the knife from his grip.

'You really love your knives,' I said.

'I used to prefer swords, but I grew fond of knives when I was resurrected. So much easier to conceal.'

I grew tired of his incessant talking and punched him. Being the snake he is, he slithered out of my grasp. We had rolled close to the gun again and I picked it up. I really only meant to fire a warning shot, but somehow Sherlock's hand got in the way. He screamed.

'Ow, do you have any idea how much that hurts?' he asked before realizing that I had the gun trained on him.

'Oh, shit!' Sherlock screamed.

It's over, Sherlock. This is the end of the line,' I said.

'Noooo! Sherlock screamed.

I pulled the trigger and turned him into ash. I was relieved that it was over. I plucked the keys from the cinders.
