Liz POV

Everyone has that time in their life that makes them want to bang their head against a brick wall repeatedly until fate decided to fix itself. For me; that was right now.

"Liar!"

"Am not!"

"Are too!"

"No!"

"Yes!"

"No!"

"Shut up!" I yelled at my best friend Gail and her assistant Jackson.

I was about to pull my hair out. For half an hour I had stood at Gail's desk listening to the two bicker like an old married couple.

Me and Gail both worked for a major cartooning company. And Gail and I were just about to leave our work building when Jackson decided to invite himself into our fight like he owned the place.

And I was sooo not in the mood for another argument. I had so much on my mind today.

First, I have a deadline on a drawing tomorrow for an agreement I didn't even know I made!

Second, apparently I haven't paid my monthly rent therefore if I don't get the landlord's money, I lose my house.

I mean, like dude, could have given me a warning right?

And don't even get me started on all those faxes that I just received on a divorce. I mean, I'm not even married!! How could I be divorced?

"You guys act like children. Honestly!" I sat my hands on my hips and glared at my best friend.

"You should know better you two." I shook my head disapprovingly.

Like seriously, they're adults!

"He/she started it!" Gail and Jackson denied pointing at each other.

"You know what, let's just get a smoothie," I rolled my eyes as the two started taunting each other.

When it came to things like this, the best thing you could do was stray like a dog or cat and ignore the situation all together.

Gail whined, "Can't we get a coffee at Café Vie instead?"

"Whatever," I answered. Honestly, I couldn't care less where we went to. I just wanted to get out of my small cubical and get some fresh clean air.

"Cafe? How about...a bar. Let's go there." Jackson thought out loud.

"Pub?! Were going back to work soon!" Gail laughed sarcastically, "and I don't want to come back drunk!"

"What? Cafe Vie is like...a kids restaurant."

"No."

"Yes."

"No."

I let out a sigh and pinched my nose ignoring the squabbling.

Café Vie, was our (me and Gail's) regular hangout. It was a small coffee shop on the end of the street that our building was on.

Catching up to Gail, she quickly picked up a red little notebook from her desk. As she did so, a few pieces of random paper dropped to the ground.

There was nothing special about the two pages. They were both 8'11 blank printer paper.

But as I bent down to pick them up, my gaze held her sketches.

The first was of a black inked skeleton. The skeleton had been perched onto a king's throne looking all humble but deadly.
