3 days after I master Lightful Dream..today, today was the day that I got rid of my curse. I know, it's a LOT to take in all of a sudden. But, my curse, it's gone! And, well so is all the magic in the world. I'll run you through everything that has happened today! This is a tale you will never forget!
I was walking home from school, I haven't seen Oscar since the day I mastered Lightful Dream. When I came home, my mom wasn't there, and that did surprise me a little because she's always home before I come back from school. I thought, why wasn't she here today? Eh, maybe she just needed to run some extra errands for whatever reason. No big deal, right? The house was pretty quiet though, Lilith was visiting some of our other cousins for the weekend so it just wasn't as lively as it usually was. I was okay with that. I decided to do some homework because I liked being organized and responsible and I don't like leaving things for last minute, haha.
I was done my homework, and I checked the time and oh boy. I didn't realize how much time had gone by. 2 hours?! And where was Mom? I was starting to worry by this point.
In a flash, Oscar appeared right behind me. "AAH!" I screamed. "Oh, it's just you. Don't scare me like that!" I whimpered. "Anyways, what are you-"
Oscar cut me off, "We need to go, now. Your mother is in trouble."
He snapped his fingers and some white smoke appeared around us. My room was disappearing before my eyes. Soon enough we arrived at another place, a, castle? I mean it looked just like a castle but it was awfully small to be one. I had asked Oscar, "Where are we?" Oscar shushed me.
"Be quiet!" he whispered. I had no idea what was going on but if my mom was in trouble I needed to save as fast as possible. I silently followed him as we walked around the side on the castle-like building. He removed a bit of the wall from the bottom, leaving a secret entrance to the inside.
He gestured his hand telling me to crawl through the opening, so I did. He followed back inside, closing the wall in behind him. When I made it out of the secret passage I made it into a bedroom, which I assumed was Oscar's.
When Oscar came out of the passage he explained what was going on, basically telling me Diana captured my mom and that I needed to save her. So we quietly made it down to the magic lab, where I assumed they tested magic. We snuck inside, and hid behind a box that happened to be near by the door. I peeked from the top and saw my mom tied with a rope, and then a beautiful but frightening wizard that was clearly Diana. I gasped, but Oscar told be to be quiet or we would be noticed.
Oscar was whispering some things to me, a plan. I listened and I was scared, because that Diana wizard was the one who gave me the curse. I could still defeat her, but I had to be careful.
Oscar reassured me that I would be fine, and I trusted him so I came out from the box.
"Hey you! Let my mother go!" I shouted as strongly as I could.
"My, my," Diana started. "Look who we have here. The cursed one." she started doing this annoying evil witch laugh.
"Xena?!" cried Mom. "How did you get here?"
"Must be my amazing nephew, Oscar. He must have brought her here to watch her mother vanish." She was so annoying, I thought, Oscar and his aunt aren't alike at all.
"Watch your mother disappear my dear," Diana continued. "By the same woman who did the same thing to your dad.
My heart stopped. My mom had always told me that my dad just passed away because of a s Sickness or something, but the real truth was that Diana made my dad disappear from this world? No..no...
"Yes, I did the same thing I'm about to do to your mother. Only, this is worse. She will watch you fall before she dies, and see how worthless you were from the start, ahahahah!" she Cackled. "You really are a disappointment to everyone, Xena. You're gonna fail everyone. May as well give in to the dark side, right?"
I couldn't take any of this anymore, I was really far past my limit. How dare she?! I can't take this anymore...! I could feel my heart pounding very quickly, and it hurt so much. I could feel my body, already changing form. I-I had to control it, I can't fall, and disappoint everyone..
"AHAHAHA!! You're daughter is falling, Lizzy! Xena is no more, for she is being taken over her own feelings!"
I couldn't control it, I will not make it...no, not now, no. I can't disappoint my mom before she disappeared. But the power of my feelings, my negative feelings, they were too strong. But, then, I could hear the voice, of my mom. Her voice, that was kinder, sweeter and much more controlled than me, rung through my ears. I could still hear them..I could hear Oscar's determined, and encouraging voice. How could I let these 2 people down after everything they've done for me? I had to be strong, for everyone, and for myself.
"I...won't....give....IN!" I put my hands in the correct position with as much force as I could and, "Lightful...Dream!"
White light from my hands barely made it through my skin which was almost covered with, scales? But then suddenly, there was a huge flash in the room. I don't quite remember what happened, but I bet it was awesome! Everything glowed, and shimmered just like how I always imagined magic to be like and soon enough, it was all over. My curse had been lifted, and all the magic around me floated up into the sky, never to be seen again.
"NOOOO! All my work, my hard work, what have you done fool?!" snapped Diana. "How am I supposed to take over the world now?"
"You don't," I said with a smile. "No more magic, no more problems!" I untied the rope around my mom and she gave me a big hug. "Come on Mom! Oh, and Oscar too! Let's leave these dark wizards be and let them learn their lesson!"
"B-but Oscar...you're one of us!" Diana sobbed. 'How you leave us?"
"I was never one of you. I never wanted to take over the world from the start, or learn dark magic. So that's why, I'm leaving all of you, and maybe when you learn what you have done, I'll come back."
After that, me, Mom and Oscar went back home, talking about everything, how I met Oscar, how he taught me Lightful Dream, and everything else. Oscar asked if he could stay with us, since we wasn't going to go back to his place for a quite a bit, and so me and my mom gladly agreed!
Later on, Oscar was settling in our house and me and Mom went outside to talk.
"Hey...Mom..I'm sorry."
"Sorry for what?" my mom asked.
"I broke your promise. I told you I'd protect magic, not get rid of it." I wept. "I failed you."
"How did you fail me? You saved me! Even if you got rid of magic, you protected everyone. Yes, wizards may have valued magic for more than a thousand years, but we failed to realize the dangers of it. I think you made the right choice," grinned Mom as she places her hands on my shoulder.
"You really think that?" I asked as I wiped my tears.
"Of course I do! I'm also very impressed you were able to learn Lightful Dream, one of the hardest spells to learn! I'm impressed that it was your last magic type thing you did! Now we all can live normal lives and not have to worry about these sorts of things ever again."
"Yeah, you're right, Mom," I smiled. "Let's go back inside and enjoy some good soup to celebrate today!"
"Alright!" my Mom sang.
This is the story of how I became cursed, and how I got rid of my curse. This is was a tough but an exciting journey to have been on. Magic may be gone from this world, but I wonder what other adventures there are for me in store...
