Waiting for Superman (Davekat)

I sighed as the cab pulled away, this was the first time I had been out of my apartment probably for about 100 or so days "I'm not sure Kanaya. Yeah he's still coming, he's just a little bit late. Probably got lost in ironic things"

I looked up at the sky and smiled "I'd like that, I should probably call him and see what he's up too, okay. Talk to you later"

I hung up the phone and started walking back into my apartment. I scrolled through my contacts and clicked on Dave's number. I waited until it went to voicemail "Hey Dave this is about the 10th message I've left on your phone and you still haven't called me back. Love you fuckass"

I threw my phone on the couch just as it started ringing, I scambled to pick it up "Dave?!"

"Has he not called you back Karkles?"

I sighed "Hey Terezi"

"Karkles, I was wondering if you would join me at a party being hosted by yours truly"

I groaned "I really don't want to go Rezi"

"C'mon Karkles it will be fun. I got Cherry Vodka"

I thought about it "When's it start" I breathed out

"In 10 minutes"

"Be there in 5"

She hung up, leaving me to change and walk back out the door. As soon as I reached the street a car with a shooting star on it passed by. "Why the hell not" I thought

"Please let Dave be at the party" I murmured

I caught a cab and headed to Terezi's apartment that she shared with Vriska. I took the elevator up to the 5th floor and walked to her door. Just before I knocked the door swung open "Karkles!"

I flipped her off and walked past her. Music was blaring from speakers and the lights were going haywire. I sighed and made my way to the drink table. "Hey"

I turned around to see some guy "Hello"

He smiled and held out his hand "I'm Felix"

I shook his hand "Karkat"

He nodded "Nice name, aren't you Dave's boyfriend?"

I nodded "Sadly"

Felix crossed his arms "Oh Dave can't be that bad can he?"

I shrugged "He hasn't called me back for days"

Felix pointed to the dance floor "Would you care to get him off your mind?"

I nodded and walked over to the dance floor. We ended up slow dancing and watching Mituna break dance. I was swaying slightly to the music when arms wrapped around my waist "Hey babe"

I turned around to see Dave's unironic shades. "Hey fuckass"

Dave sighed "What'd I do Kitkat"

My eyes widened "What'd you do? Are you fucking serious! You haven't called me back for days! You were suppose to meet me for coffee this morning! And you didn't fucking show! You couldn't be fucking bothered to call me and tell me you weren't coming!?"

Dave groaned and rubbed the bridge of his nose "I'm sorry Kitkat I forgot"

I sighed "Doesn't explain why you haven't called me back"

I crossed my arms and looked at him. He pulled out his phone "It's been broken"

I looked at the ground "oh"

"Hey Dave"

I looked behind me to see Felix. "Hey man whatcha been up to lately?"

Felix shrugged "Me and Karkles here were just hanging out waiting for you to get here"

Dave smirked "Well thanks for keeping my boy busy"

Just then Dave's phone rang. He picked up "Hello? Oh hey John, yeah I can be there in five. Okay see you then"

He gave me a kiss on the cheek "Sorry babe but I gotta run. Love you"

"love you too" I whispered under my breath

Felix looked at me "You okay Karkat?"

I shrugged, turned away and looked out the window "If this was a movie, then it wouldn't end like this. Left without a kiss."

Felix nodded "HEY DAVE YOU FORGOT SOMETHING!"

Dave ran back to us "What'd I forget?"

Felix leaned and whispered something in Dave's ear. A smirk appeared on his lips. A hand landed on my shoulder "Hey Kitkat"

I turned around to be met with Dave's lips, I smiled into the kiss. Dave pulled away "Wanna dance?"

I nodded and Dave intertwined his fingers with mine. I smiled softly and leaned my head on his shoulder "I'm sorry I haven't hung out with you lately" He whispered

I shrugged "I'm sure you had a good reason"

Dave shook his head "I've been working"

I looked at him "Why?"

He shrugged and smirked "You didn't realize?"

I gave him a confused look "Realize what"

He backed away and got on one knee. The whole party stopped and stared, I blushed "Dave what are you doing"

He smiled and pulled a box out of his pocket "Happy birthday Kitkat"

He handed me the box and I opened it slowly. Inside was a necklace with a gear with a scratch down the middle. "Dave this is.."

"Our symbols yeah. I've been working so I could buy it for you"

I smiled and hugged him "I love you"

Dave hugged me back "I love you too. By the way. This is your birthday party"

I stared at him then at Terezi "Omg you fuckasses"

They all started laughing. I smiled "Hey Dave"

"Yeah Karkat"

I looked at him and smiled "Thank you for being my superman"

He smiled "You're welcome Lois"

I flipped him off and he chuckled softly.

A/N: I TRIED!!! I realize that this kinda sucks but I got the idea and I thought it was kinda cute so I tried to write it. Kinda failed I think. But I ship it :) Feel free to request anything.
