Prince Eric sat by the rather large windows, gazing at the night sky full of shining stars. The hopes and wishes of a child, like the exact child he was. He was still thinking of all these executions he had witnessed the past few days ─ but he was too innocent to understand how cruel the world could be. He had questions that unfortunately couldn't be answered, mainly from the lack of such knowledge in the palace. The king was impossible to talk to, he was neglectful. The servants, maids, guards and even the prince's butler refused to give him any answers in fear of angering the cruel king. Their lives would be at risk.
Unfortunately too, his mother was no longer by his side, leaving young prince Eric at the hands of the evil world to shape his character. Ever since her passing, when he was just four, Eric had been alone even though he was surrounded by people most of the time. It was purely because he was the next ruler and they couldn't risk losing him. That's all they cared about.
