Anya's head spun as she exited the Nurse's office, her mind still reeling from the dizzy spell. Gathering herself, she made her way to her next class. Upon entering, she was greeted by the teacher's warm smile.
"Ah, Anya, glad to see you're feeling better," the teacher said kindly. "I take it you're ready for the mid-terms?"
Anya nodded, though internally, she couldn't help but feel a pang of frustration. It seemed like all the teachers cared about was academic performance, forgetting that students' well-being was just as important.
As Anya settled into her seat, she couldn't help but notice Damian a few desks away. His posture was upright, his brow furrowed in concentration, and his headphones firmly in place. Despite the bustling classroom around him, he seemed entirely engrossed in whatever material lay in front of him.
Anya shook her head slightly, her gaze lingering on Damian for a moment longer. She admired his dedication but also felt a competitive fire ignite within her.
"I won't lose," she whispered under her breath, her eyes flicking back to her notebook. With renewed determination, she began to scan over her meticulously prepared notes, ready to tackle the upcoming mid-terms with full force.
"Ok, now that you're all here, you will be given the rest of the school day off," the teacher began, her eyes scanning the room, "for studying," she emphasized, her tone leaving no room for negotiation.
"The Library is open, and you are free to use this room too" she continued
"Perfect I'm gonna cram like crazy, and take my rightful place at the top" Anya thought smiling to herself
As Anya settled into a desk in the library, she couldn't help but feel a surge of determination. "This is it," she thought to herself, "my chance to outshine Damian and prove myself." With her textbooks spread out before her, she delved into her studies with a focused intensity, determined to conquer every subject and secure her spot at the top of the class.
As Damian scanned the library for an empty seat, his frustration grew at the sight of the crowded room. With a resigned sigh, he made his way towards the only available spot, which happened to be right beside Anya. Reluctantly, he took the seat, trying to ignore the proximity to his academic rival.
Damian quickly typed out a message to Sakura: "Exams at my school this week, hoping to take 1st again." After sending the message, he slid his phone back into his pocket, ready to focus on his studies. Meanwhile, Anya felt her phone buzz but was too engrossed in her studies to check it immediately, or even notice Damian beside her.
