Opening my bedroom door, gusts of wind hit my face harshly making me take a step back.

Weird. My window is closed yet powerful winds surround me.

I carefully walk into my room. Looking around I see my queen size bed sloppily made, some of my clothes are scattered in various areas on the floor, the light grey walls are littered with pictures of people whom I cherish, the night stand has a cute lamp on it, the table in front of the window has my school books placed across it and two more doors within the room.

One of the doors lead to my walk-in closet while the other leads to my bathroom.

As I open my bathroom door, the raging winds seem to be surrounding an object which I can’t really see.

Walking closer I notice it is the butterfly earrings that I had picked up from the side of the road.

A miniature tornado surrounds the earrings. While taking cautious steps towards the earrings, the earrings start to glow intensely.

The light blinds me for a moment until I finally get close enough to pick the earrings up.

As soon as the earrings are in my possession, the furious winds stop. Everything that was flying in the air earlier, suddenly drops to the ground with a thud.

Upon closer inspection, the earrings have some carvings on the side of them. I can’t really interpret the language.

Suddenly, the earrings start to glow, blinding me with its white light. I begin hearing that ringing sound again.

The ground beneath my feet disappears causing my heart rate to pick up.

Everything around me begins to disappear. Suddenly I start falling into a black abyss. Screaming, I try and claw my way back up.

Above me I start seeing a glimpse of what used to be my bathroom. Whereas below me, I start seeing blades of fresh green blades grass blowing in the wind.
Now I know for a fact that there is no grass in my bathroom.

“Mum!”, I call out in panic. “Shawn help me!”, I plead in hopes that someone would hear me.

How can anyone hear me when I am trapped in an abyss?

“Is anyone there? Help me!”, I yell as loud as I can. Desperately trying to scramble my way out.

Tears fall down my face as I try to reach my bathroom.

“Someone help me please”, I beg.

Feeling weaker by the moment. Black dots begin to cloud my vision. I don’t know whether it’s from the abyss or my own eyes. I slip in and out of conscious.

“I’m scared” I whisper faintly, clutching the earrings in my chest and curling up in a ball.

If I was gone, would anyone care? I mean I’m not even popular at school. I barely know the neighbours.

I turn down everyone that wants to befriend me. Will mum and Shawn be okay?

Suddenly everything goes black and…
