It's a sunny day in Hogwarts. I walked in rush to get into the potion class and found myself late. Professor Sharp told me that I should get my punishment by writing ten potion recipes at the library. I don't have any choice. I opened the library door and took a sat in the corner. As I wanted to fill my quill with ink, I spotted someone familiar beside me. A young boy with golden-white hair, places his fingers on the book. It was a braille book.
His face looked calm and ethereal, yet I could sense a sassiness through his demeanour. His pale eyes glow as the sun comes high into the sky. He then flips the book and does the same thing as before, wandering the book with his long finger.
"Why are you just standing there?"
The boy's voice echoed in my head. I was surprised by his sudden voice.
"Ummm, hello Ominis"
Ominis followed my voice, looking in my direction. He closed his book then gave me a cordial look
"Ah, it's you. You're the new fifth year, right?"
I nodded "Yes, we met yesterday in the Common Room, remember?"
"Of course, everyone is talking about you right now. What brought you here?"
I froze at the moment, too shy to tell that I was late in my second day of school.
"Don't tell that you're being punished?"
"Ummmm" I tried to make a diversion "Actually I-"
"I'll take that as a yes"
He then goes back to his book, leaving the library tranquil one more time. I am shocked by his sudden behaviour. At first, I thought that he could read people's minds by just seeing their faces. And then I realized that he was blind. I then take my quill and start writing.
Suddenly, the aroma of jasmine flowers filled my lungs. Jasmine flowers are often associated with dark magic and those who are possessed by it. I look in every direction but can't find the source of the aroma. As I go back to my work, my eyes catch a little memo written by Ominis.
"I think I'm not the only one who can trace dark magic. Come, let's find out"
I exchanged glances with Ominis then left the library as soon as possible. When we arrived at the doorway, Ominis started running. It seems that he doesn't want to lose the trace of the Jasmine flowers. He kept running and then turned left. I tried to follow him but as I arrived in the next hallway, he was gone. I lose him.
I tried to control my breath. The poltergeist and the painting arounds looked me in horror. When I want to cast Revelio to detect Ominis's position, my wand doesn't want to work.
"Oh, Shit!" I swore to myself
There's only one possibility if someone's instantly gone or vanished in this long hallway.
A secret passage.
I remembered that Hogwarts was built with many secret passages. The chamber of secret is the most famous one.
I'm looking at every direction of the hallway, hoping that I could find any clues about the puzzle that locked the secret passage. My eyes spotted three torches at the end of the hallway. It seems weird to place it there. I then cast a spell to light them and suddenly, the floor beneath me opened. I screamed when my body started falling. As I went down, the air there began to get stuffy. I bumped into the ground, finding myself in the wide mirror maze.
"I have a bad feeling about this"
The light there was dim. All I can see is just a green light from the torch that is reflected from mirror to mirror. When I see my reflection there, I feel my body begin to tremble. I'm not alone there, a big snake is hissing behind me, ready to devour me as its dinner. I don't dare to look back. I then closed my eyes as I walked through the mirror maze. For a moment, I opened my eyes just to make sure that I was walking in the right direction. When I stepped, I promptly kicked something hard.
