As practice continued I kept looking at Val to see if she was still okay. Her and Rutger were sitting together and she had her head on his shoulder. She was still able to take pictures and videos if she needed to. Practice went quickly since we were running through our plays. Once coach let us go I quickly went to change out of my practice clothes and back into my regular clothes. When I walked out I saw Val was just finishing cleaning up her gear. Rutger grabbed her bag for her and double checked that she had everything. I knew that she wanted time with just her brother so I walked up to her and quickly gave her a hug goodbye before heading back to my place with the boys.

As we were all in the car I could see Roman opening his mouth about to ask me something, but then closing his mouth deciding against it. After driving without any noise other than the music playing softly Roman finally spoke up. "JJ I know you're worried about her especially with not knowing what to do or how to make it better, but you helped in the way that Val asked you to help. Her brother was the best person to come and calm her down." I sighed because Roman is right. If I didn't listen to Val or call Rutger I don't know what would've happened or how it would've ended up.

When we arrived back at our building, I was back in my place. I texted both Rutger and Val. It didn't take very long for Rutger to get back to me. He told me that since her panic attack was more on the severe end that it made her exhausted, so she is sleeping right now. I was relieved to hear that she was doing better and getting some sleep. Since I assumed that she wouldn't be getting up for a while I hopped into the shower and did some more homework. I wanted to finish any homework I had before the weekend so I didn't take many breaks in between each assignment. After about two hours of working I finished all the work I had due the upcoming week.

I cleaned up my desk and went to the kitchen to eat some dinner. I cooked some pasta and grilled chicken. I decided to have some water with dinner tonight. As I was cooking my dinner I felt my phone ring. I looked down and saw that my mom, Megan and Caitlin were facetiming me in a group facetime call. I propped my phone up against the cooking utensil container and picked up.

JJ: hey mama

Megan: hi sweet boy. how are you

JJ: i'm okay. how are all of you doing

Jim: we're all doing good. you excited for the home opener tomorrow?

JJ: yeah it'll be good to get our first one in the big house out of the way as soon as possible

Morgan: so i'm just going to say what we're all dying to ask. are you going to introduce us to valentina?

JJ: i don't know. i mean we're not exclusive or boyfriend and girlfriend so i don't want to rush this or make her uncomfortable

Caitlin: oh come on. we really want to meet the girl who has our brother this happy

In the middle of our conversation I saw a notification from Val. I opened her message, smiled and chuckled at her response.

Morgan: ooh looks like big bros girl just texted him

JJ: stop, leave me alone. so what if i did

Caitlin: well what'd she say

JJ: no i'm not telling you all our private conversations

Caitlin and Morgan: what come on

Megan: girls JJ's right we can't be nosy and butt into their private conversations with each other. iIt's private for a reason. He doesn't do it to you two and your relationships so it's not fair to do it to him

JJ: thanks mom

Jim: alright bud we're going to let you go eat dinner and get some rest, but we'll see you tomorrow at your game

JJ: okay bye everyone love you all

I sat down with ESPN on eating some food. I was super hungry so I had two bowls of my pasta before putting the left overs in my fridge and putting my dirty dishes in the dishwasher. Since I was already in what I normally wear to sleep, which is a pair of shorts and a tshirt I facetimed Val for our movie night.

JJ: hey so what do you want to watch

Val: hmm i don't know you can choose

JJ: no you've had a hard day. you choose. i'm okay with watching anything

Val: okay what about tangled

JJ: sounds good

I scrolled to disney+ and clicked on it. I went to my profile and looked up Tangled. I clicked on play. Since I was using my macbook I screenshared my screen on facetime so we could watch at the same time and not worry about the movie not being synced with each other. As the movie was going on I saw her mouthing along to the songs. About half way through the movie she was munching on the chips that I gave her this morning. I took a picture of the screen and continued watching the movie and Val. It was getting late and I saw Val's eyes closing, but she was fighting it. Once the movie finished she was already asleep. I decided to not hang up. I plugged my computer in and laid it on my bed so that I can also go to sleep.
