Falling for Luke Hemmings

Its Just the Beginning

As the alarm on my phone went off, I turned over to look at the time. I pushed the covers off from over me and stood up. It was Tuesday, so I was getting ready for school. I stood up from the bed and walked to the bathroom. I turned the shower on and waited for the water to start feeling warm. After the water was warm, I jumped in and started shampooing my hair. After I got out I quickly brushed my teeth and went back to my room. I checked the time on my phone which was five minutes till 6:00 am. I pulled out a pair of black skinny jeans and a white T-shirt.

After I was dressed, I put on a little bit of makeup and then went down stairs to get some breakfast. I could smell the eggs and bacon as it lit up the room.

"Morning, sweety! Hungry?" asked mum as she was standing at the counter, eating a piece of toast and drinking some orange juice.

"Yes." I said still in my morning mood. I grabbed a piece of toast and some nutella from the cabinet. Mum handed me a plate with some eggs and bacon in it. I checked the time again and it was 6:01 am. After I ate I grabbed my keys and walked out the door.

"Bye, honey! Have a good day at school!" Mum yelled as I walked out.

It was warm outside and the wind was blowing a little. I couldn't drive yet because mum insisted I wait till later. It didn't bother me though because I always caught a ride with Luke. Luke was my best friend. We've been best friends since we were really little.

As I walked down the road to the stop sign, I saw Luke in his car heading towards me to pick me up. "Ready?" he asked as he rolled down the window, smiling. "Yes." I replied as I giggled and then got into the car. I buckled up, and noticed that Luke was still staring at me.

"What?" I asked while laughing a little. Luke just smiled and started driving.

"You look very pretty today." he blushed a little and smiled trying to hide it.

I could feel my cheeks turn a light shade of pink. "Thank you! Haha" I said still looking over at him.

"Are you doing anything after school today?" He asked while stopping at another stop sign and then looking both ways.

"I don't think I'm doing anything. Why you ask?" I said thinking about what he was going to say. I always had feelings for Luke, but not enough to really know how I felt.

"Well if you weren't doing anything, I was gonna ask you if you wanted to come over at my house and hang out a little bit." He said while taking a right turn into the school parking lot.

"Of course I'll come over this afternoon." I smiled as he found a parking place. He pulled out his keys from the ignichon and got out from the car. I picked up my bag, and before I could reach the door knob, Luke had already opened it waiting for me. I got out the car, and we both walked inside the building.

"Great! Can't wait!" Luke said as we were about to start walking down the hallway. The bell doesn't ring till another 10 minutes. Luke always showed up a little early so we could get to our lockers without having to wait in a crowd.

"Cool. So did you ever do that homework for Jones?" I asked while stopping at my locker. I put my bag in my locker while just grabbing my binder and then shutting it to head over to Luke's locker.

"Amanda, you know I never do my homework. To be fair, i think its just a waist of time." He said while putting his backpack in his locker and then shutting it.

"I know bu-" I was cut off as Ashton came down the hallway yelling for Luke's attention. I turned around to look and Ashton was walking over to us.

"Hey Luke! What's up? I was gonna ask you if you wanted to come hang out this afternoon? Oh hey, Amanda!" Said Ashton as if he had drank 4 coffees this morning.

"Well I was actually planning to hangout with Amanda after school today." Luke said while biting his lip ring.

"Well Amanda can come too! I'm sure she don't mind, do you Amanda?" Ashton asked me while running his hand through his hair. He seemed quite happy today like a little kid when he gets candy or something. I really didn't want to go to Ashton's today, but I agreed just to be nice.

"Uh.. No. I don't mind haha." I said while looking at Ashton and then to Luke. Luke frowned and then looked at Ashton. I didn't really know what to say due to the look on his face.

Luke started, "yeah well go, but we can't stay for long." Ashton shook his head and then agreed. As he walked away I noticed he had a bandana hanging out of his back pocket. Luke starting walking down the hallway to the snack machine.

"Is everything okay?" I asked while watching luke buy a pack of gummy bears from the food machine. The bell rang and everybody started shooting through the hallway.

"Yeah everything's fine. We better get to class. See you later at lunch?" He said while opening the gummy bears. I told him that we would and started to walk to class.

The day had gone by pretty fast. I sat at my desk finishing up some work. The bell rang and people jumped up running out of the classroom. I stood up and grabbed my stuff and walked out. I headed to the lunch room putting my books in my bag while walking. Some girl behind me stepped on the back of my shoe causing it to slide off of my heel. She laughed and then walked away. I leaned on the wall fixing my shoe while rolling my eyes at her. I didn't really get along with a lot of people at school. So I just ignored it and walked on.

I opened the doors to the lunch room and started to walk in. I was hoping I wouldn't see green haired Michael. He had been picking on me since day one. I never did anything wrong to him so I never knew why.

"Well look who showed up! Little Ms shy thingie!" I heard a voice that sounded a lot like Michaels and so I turned around to look at him. He was with his friends laughing. I turned around trying to ignore him. Luke and Michael were friends but I didn't see him walk in the cafe yet.

"Just leave me alone!" I added and then started walking away. I sat down at the round table in the back cause that's where I always sat with my friends. Michael followed me and sat right in front of me crossing his arms while leaning on the table.

"And what will you do if I don't?" He smirked as he teased me. I didn't like Michael. He annoyed me so much that I literally just couldn't take it anymore. I didn't say anything I just looked down at the table waiting for Luke to show up. He smirked again moving closer to look at my face. "You're so pathetic. Do you ever talk?" He asked me while pulling out a lighter and a cigarette.

"Leave her alone Michael!" Luke said standing from behind me. I continued to just look down and then I felt a tug on my arm. "Come on, Amanda. Let's go outside." Luke added. I stood up and followed him outside. We sat down at a table.

"I really don't know why I'm friends with him sometimes.. Are you okay?" He said, looking at me with concern.

"I'm fine. He just annoys me." I told him
