"Hey it's time to wake up."

"Hm?"

"You hear me?"

"mmHm?"

"I said it's time to wake up."

"Mmmkay."

"Well?"

"I'm up..."

"Alright, breakfast is ready so hurry up."

"Kay....."

5 minutes had passed since this little interaction, since then the sound of snoring could once again be heard from outside the bedroom. If things didn't progress that not only would breakfast be wasted but someone would end up being late.

"Oh for Pete's..." opening the door, she once again entered the bedroom. This time she was much more serious about waking them up.

"H-hey!" April groaned as part of her blanket was yanked from her, forcing her out of her "meditative state" or so she'd claim.

"I told you breakfast was ready." Ume smiled down at her daughter. "And you told me that you were up."

"I-I was! I-I mean I am." April stammered.

"So you were snoring for fun?" Ume grinned, knowing that April didn't have any easy way out of this. Yes or No, any answer would work for her objective.

"......yes?" April asked rather than stated like she wouldn't answer any other question.

"Is that so?" Ume asked, sitting the part of the  blanket she had back down on the mattress. "Well either way you're awake now. Go get freshened up before breakfast gets cold."

"Yes Mama." April sat up and stretched as Ume left the room, content with her job of wake up duty.

Alone, April went to check her phone for the time but all she got was a black screen and her own reflection. It was there she saw what Ume meant, her hair was pointing in all sorts of directions, far from the picture of grace associated with the Aihara family. "Yikes! Yeah I gotta brush."

Soon April was standing in front of the bathroom mirror,  humming as she brushed the catastrophe that was her hair. Her hair wasn't much darker than it was before, she had discussed dying it with her parents who didn't oppose the idea. It was a sudden idea, one that was ignited by her eldest Sister and her wife discussing blonde hair.

The only real issue April faced was that she didn't have any color in mind she thought would look great on her. Something this serious wasn't worth the risks, especially if it looked ugly on her. So the idea was put on hold for now.

"Perfect!" April grinned after adjusting her appearance. Her hair was now flat with the exception of a ponytail, finally looking more presentable than minutes before.

"Oh there's my daughter." Ume said after sipping her morning coffee. "Wasn't sure if I lost ya under all that hair."

"My hair isn't even that long." April countered as sat down at the table and began eating the breakfast Ume had prepared for her.  Her hair was shoulder length, longer than Umes but shorter than her sisters.

"And yet you still somehow look like a mess every morning." Ume chuckled despite the slight embarrassment on April's face.

"Not...every morning." April countered.

"Yeah? Just the ones where you stay up late face timing Inori then?" Ume asked.

"No!" April saw an opportunity to actually correct her mother. "Actually it was Haruka."
