“So you’re the one.” Alex muttered eyeing the boy who stood before him with his dear sister in his arms.

“No time, she needs immediate attention.” Ed tried to negotiate but Alex held up his arms stopping Andrew from getting Echo.

“Now just a minute” Alex narrowed his eyes then skeptically looked over Echo, “First tell me what happened.”

“I will, but she needs help.” Ed was beginning to get frustrated so he barged into their home and set Echo on the couch then noticed she was getting cold sweats. Furrowing his eyebrows he slipped off her shirt and was silently thanking her for wearing a cami under her shirt, and soon his eyes widened slightly seeing a black mark on her shoulder. It looked like ink seeping into her skin, and he was worried. It was the black mark from his master, although he wondered how his master even got close enough to her without anyone noticing.

“What the hell is that?” Andrew questioned while he was stepping on Alex’s back, restraining him from beating Ed, for he had watched the man remove a piece of clothing from his ‘baby’ sister.

“ . . .Must be a really bad bruise.” Ed lied easily then went to touch it but refrained from so remembering that if he touched it, he would get burned.

“How do you think she got it?”

“Probably when she got close to getting ran over.” Ed replied quickly, being an Incubus had it’s pros when it meant you could lie without any trouble. Ed caught sight of Alex flinching at the sound of Echo nearly being ran over. Ed knew Alex was probably suffering after he yelled at Echo like that, and he deserved it.

“Oh . . .” Andrew muttered then lifted his foot from his brother’s back but Alex never moved, he just laid there probably thinking. Ed was too busy to even care about that so he let his hand hover over the mark to see how much damage there was, and for a moment he had hope until the mark decided to dig deeper into her skin. It was quiet for a moment but Ed could faintly hear the mark digging deeper the longer it was on or in her skin. With a sigh he looked back towards the brothers.

“It would be much appreciated if you would leave the room.”

“But-”

“Now.” He turned back and listened to see if they would leave, then they did. Ed closed his eyes for a moment then leaned close to Echo and let his lips go near her shoulder. Letting in a breath he bit down onto her shoulder. Echo’s eyes widened immediately and she went to scream but Ed had pressed his hand on her mouth to keep her quiet. His teeth sunk into the skin of her shoulder as he felt the mark move from her shoulder into his mouth, and with a swallow the mark was gone from her body. Then for a moment it was quiet and Ed could feel the mark racing through his demonic body and then it was gone, and a black mist left through his mouth and nose like smoke.

“W-What?” Echo gripped her shoulder and felt no more pain, and there wasn’t even a bite mark that had come from Ed.

“You were marked with a demonic mark” Ed started, slowly standing up he let out a breath feeling tired, “Anymore longer and you would have been dead.”

“Explain to me what’s going on!!” Echo exclaimed causing her two brothers to barge into the room.

“What’s wrong!?” Andrew questioned while Alex merely glared.

“Oh . . .I’m home?” Echo questioned looking around with an oblivious expression.

“My work here is done.” Ed muttered and walked past Echo’s brothers calmly, then for a moment Echo quickly stood up to follow him but her brothers got to her first and made her lay down. She watched him leave like a fog that dispersed into the air and fell unconscious.
