Lexa checks her phone for the 20th time in the last ten minutes.2:25.
She'd have been here by now.
She's been pacing around her house after lighting an obscene amount of candles to give the entire house a warm, dim glow and fresh, floral scent. Her finger clicks on one of the saved bat signal images from her saved photos, her thumb's hovering over the send button, completely deflated.
She's never gonna let me hear the end of this one.
God once Raven finds out about this....Clarke probably texted her about it as soon as I walked away.
They're probably laughing about it right now.
Lexa tries to catch herself from falling down the worst type of rabbit hole.
It was stupid to even give her the choice.
Stupid, stupid fucking idea.
The brunette is riling herself up as the anger builds.
She thinks she's so much fucking better than me... what's so different about what she's doing with Niylah and Luna and whatever the hell that was out there tonight.....
Fucking hypocrite.
Lexa's eyes are wide open to the truth she'd been in denial about for too long now:
I think it's really over now.....
She's pretty sure she'll be passed out by the time Costia gets here anyways. She's only sending the signal to summon her just to prove she DIDN'T bring anyone else home - no point in letting her think otherwise, which she clearly will, if no one in fact was coming.
Her thumb is about to hit send when she hears the hurried footsteps, then heavy knocks against her door.
Lexa practically glides across the room, and swings open the door to Clarke and her sinful silhouette. Clarke's out of breath, bracing against the sides of the doorframe, with eyes glaring.
"Fuck me 'til I forget why I shouldn't have come here tonight." She orders.
She doesn't wait for a response and steps through the doorway, directly at Lexa who once their bodies are almost touching takes a few steps back, wanting to draw the blonde all the way in and earn this all over again for having taken so long to get here.
"You and your demands..." Says the brunette, shaking her head slightly.
But Clarke keeps walking at her ready to pounce, and Lexa keeps stepping back, curiously taking in her ex back in her her home while the blonde rants what clearly had been building up in her head on the way over.
"You love to play these little games like it doesn't matter to you..."
Lexa clenches her jaw, continuing to step back.
"You want everyone to think you're above it all..." Clarke growls, "Like you don't actually care..." The rasp in her voice is raising goosebumps along Lexa's arms.
"...but I see right fucking through you."
Lexa's thighs hit the back of her couch in the living room, leaving the two standing there still staring, sizing each other up, both teetering at the edge of shared desire.
Lexa swallows thickly, "Don't think you can just walk back into my house and start—"
"Stop talking." Clarke orders.
Lexa cocks her head at the blonde with authority.
"Or what?"
The corner of her mouth curls up just enough to betray her serious tone.
