When I was younger, I dreaded exercise, I dreaded anything that didn't require me to sit alone in my room watching TV and eating junk food.
When I was the ages of 18-21, I dreaded the hangovers that would be inevitable every single day, I had nothing to do but drink alcohol because it made me 'fun', it made my life more...bareable?
When I was 21, I had suffered an ectopic pregnancy, was going through breakup and had no home, on top of this, the world threw COVID-19 and lockdown into the mix. I really thought that this was going to be the straw that breaks the camels back, but it wasn't.
Instead, it created a running machine, a healthier version of myself. It created a person I didn't even know I had the potential of being and suddenly, I was annoyed at myself for wasting so much of my life doing useless crap.
From 37 minute 5K's, to now running a marathon in 2 hours and 54 minutes, I owe everything to 2019 Izzy. But it wasn't all plain sailing and first, there was a half marathon to conquer. So, here it is, the running diaries to the half marathon...
