A few minutes later, Mia decided to make dinner. "Hmm," she said, looking in the fridge and eventually deciding on smoked sausage. When she was in the middle of eating dinner, she heard a knock on her door. "Who is it," she called, standing up. "It's just me, Tommy," he called out. "Hey," she said, opening the door. "Hey." "Come in. So, what's up?" "I was driving by and thought I'd say hi. What'd you make for dinner? It smells amazing." "Thanks, I can make you a plate if you want." Tommy smiled and nodded, "Thanks." As Mia dished out a plate of smoked sausage and potatoes, Tommy couldn't help but feel a little nervous. He didn't know what his intentions were by coming over, but he knew he wanted to spend more time with Mia. They sat down at the table and began to eat. "So, how was your day," Mia asked, breaking the silence. Tommy took a sip of water before responding, "It was alright. I had a lot on my mind after last night." Mia looked at him with concern, "Is everything okay?" Tommy sighed, "I don't know. I just feel like I'm not ready for a relationship yet." Mia's heart sank, but she tried to hide it by taking a bite of her food. "I understand," she said, trying to sound supportive. Tommy noticed the change in her demeanor and couldn't help but feel guilty. "Mia, I didn't mean it like that. I want to keep seeing you, I just need some time to figure things out." Mia looked up at him with a small smile, "Okay, I understand." They finished their meal in silence, but it wasn't an awkward silence. It was a silence filled with understanding and respect for each other's feelings. As they cleared the dishes, Tommy spoke up, "Hey, do you want to watch a movie or something?" Mia nodded, "Sure, I have some movies in the living room." They settled on a romantic comedy and snuggled up on the couch. As the movie played, Tommy couldn't help but feel a sense of comfort being next to Mia. He knew he wasn't ready for a relationship, but he couldn't deny the attraction he felt towards her. As the movie ended, Tommy realized how late it was getting. "I should probably get going," he said, standing up from the couch. Mia stood up as well, "Okay, drive safe." Tommy nodded, "I will." As he walked towards the door, he turned around to face Mia. "Hey, can I see you again soon?" Mia smiled, "Of course, just let me know when." Tommy smiled back, "Okay, I will." As he stepped out of the apartment, he couldn't help but feel relieved that Mia was understanding of his situation. He knew he had a lot to figure out, but he hoped that he could do it with Mia by his side.
