Rise of Corruption

Prolog

It all began two-hundred years ago when our nations were at war over territories, there was a hero who sought to bring peace among all the nations. The man and his best friend began facing the horrors of the war and protecting the innocent from those horrors, however along the way the young hero began to lose his way. The hero had obtained a powerful staff and within it held the key to ending the war, at the cost of his own life as he knew it. The hero and his friend would travel from town to town not saving the citizens, rather he murdered them and claimed it was the only way, he would take their blood and bodies to use them in horrific experiments and before anyone knew it he had turned into a monster in human form. The armies of all the nations would join together in trying to stop this man and his undead army, however it was not the force of all the nations together that stopped this powerful necromancer, but rather the man who he had trusted as a friend and servant.

The servant who had become enthralled by the necromancers corrupting influence, would break free from control and bide his time for a chance to right the wrongs that he and his former master had committed over the course of their dark journey. One night while his master was distracted by his experiments the freed thrall took the necromancer's staff and used it to imprison him in the crypt that they used as their home. After he had imprisoned his former master he used the staff's remaining power to bury the crypt deep below ground after that he hid the staff someplace far from the crypt where no one could find it. I ironically the due to the hero falling to the dark powers of necromancy he had achieved his goal of stopping the war, as after he was sealed away the nations turned the temporary truce into a permanent one, the signed peace treaty and the world has been at peace for the last two-hundred years.

However there is a dark blight tainting this world and I have reason to believe it is linked to the necromancer's crypt, perhaps the seal is weakening and his dark power is seeping into the world. There have been many dark monsters roaming the lands and I seek a way to end the madness and expel this darkness once and for all.
