Entering Hogwarts, a sense of nostalgia came over her like the rapid waves she had learned to love back home in Kauai.

It was technically her first time seeing the beauty that took place at Hogwarts, however her mind had seen it hundreds of times through a different pair of eyes. Each time more stunning than the last.

Blair was ripped out of her daze when the familiar voice of her, or lily's, most preferred professor called her name.

"Blair Mayfield!" There stood Professor Mcgonagall, script in hand and as serious as always.

The girl rushed to get to the stool where the sorting hat sat. She had already experienced the sorting ceremony but fear sank into her, afraid that he would say something sly about her intentions at hogwarts.

Placing the hat on her head, her waves disheveling from the movement, the hat vocally started to think.

"Mhm," it started. "How different. I see flashes of a different face for some odd reason. But I feel your ambition. The unknown need to do something but do you even know what that is."

She felt as if her heart had stopped the whole time he spoke, her breathing becoming faint.

"You are a leader, always have been. Always will be. One to do what no one else will or what no one else can't. Your courageousness skyrockets when someone else is in need of your attention and protection, whether they admit or not." After a few more seconds, the hat finally came to a conclusion.

The great hall was so silent that if a feather fell to the floor most would hear it connecting to the floor. Everyone's faces portrayed either boredom or anticipation, the storing hat taking its sweet time announcing her official house.

With all eyes on Blair, it spoke.

"Slytherin!"

A table, which she assumed was her table, let out an uproar of cheers and applause, acceptance washing over her.

The professor urged her to her table, anxiety settling onto her as she was new, and like most new students, she didn't know anybody. However, one in particular caught her eye as she had bonded with him over a book she was rather familiar with and once again, because she was no introvert, she made her way towards him where she spotted a vacant seat.

Standing in front of the seat across from him, she caught his attention.

"Do you mind?" She asked, also looking at the other students around her.

Before Draco could say anything, someone else answered.

"No we don't. Please! Have a seat."

Looking to her right, she spotted a girl around her age, rather pretty if she does say so herself.

Taking her seat, the same girl spoke, her tone welcoming.
"Pansy," she stuck out her hand the same way Blair had stuck out her when introducing herself to the blond boy.

Meeting her hand, Blair sent her a polite smile, wanting to make a friend.

"Blair," she said, once again, looking at the friend group the two seem to be apart of. "Mayfield."

Another boy met her gaze.

"Mayfield? Never heard of it. Are you from America?"

"Yea," she replied suddenly realizing how different she sounded compared to the rest of them. "From Kauai. It's in Hawaii."

A gasped escaped Pansy's mouth, her jaw dropped as if she had just heard the best news a person could ever receive.

"Hawaiis literally at the top of my list for places I want to visit. You're so lucky you were raised there," she started, her eyes wide. "I would never leave I don't know why you came here it's just forest and fog."
