It was now Saturday and June hadn't got any call from Erica. She was guessing Jen and Erica had made up by now.
If so, June didn't know because Jen wasn't hitting her back at all.
She hadn't spoke with her since the party and she was acting really odd.
June sat on her bed as she flipped through magazines.
Her phone began to ring and she immediately picked it up and answered.
"Hello? Who is this?" June asked.
"It's Erica. I gotta tell you something and please don't be mad at me." Erica said.
"No, never.. what's up?" June asked.
"So, you know how me and Jen haven't been on good terms lately?" Erica asked.
"Yea? What about it?" June asked.
"So you know how I said the reason I fell out with her was because she started getting mad close to Vanessa and her friends ? That wasn't the only reason and at first I didn't know how to tell you because I felt like it wasn't my place and that she'd probably tell you eventually. But to be straight up she's been fucking Joey for a while now." Erica answered.
"What? No? Are you being dead ass?" June asked as she felt a knot in her stomach.
She couldn't believe what Erica had just told her.
This couldn't be true. She knew Jen couldn't have done this to her. Not after she cried in front of her and vented to her many times about both Joey and Malaki.
As far as she knew, Jen never even liked Joey as a person so this was really confusing her and very shocking.
"Yea, that's the same way I felt. Like at first I thought she was joking and I just brushed it off. It wasn't until I saw it with my own eyes and kept seeing them leave school together. Like the night of the party I saw them all over each other and that's when I knew something had to be going on between them. I'm sorry for not telling you sooner I just wasn't sure." Erica replied.
"That's fucking crazy Erica. You're supposed to be my fucking friend why didn't you tell me as soon as she told you that shit? Huh? Don't you think it would be stupid for someone to joke about something like that? And why the fuck would someone thats supposed to be one of my closest friends wanna tell me that their fucking my man?" June asked.
"Yea, but you gotta understand in the moment it didn't feel like she was serious because of the fact that we all were friends, like just think about it June would you have believed it if she told you she was fucking Dre? Like would that even make sense? I'm sorry June it just seemed so unreal like as long as I've been knowing Ien I've never known her to do some snake shit like that. But like I said before I'm done being friends with her. It's not right and I understand if you're mad at me because as a friend it was wrong on my part not to tell you sooner. I just didn't know how to bring it up and didn't want you to flash out at school." Erica said.
"I forgive you, Erica. But look, I gotta go. I really got a lot going on and I just can't believe this shit." June said as she hung up the phone.
As soon as she hung up she bursted out in tears as she buried her face in her pillow.
She couldn't believe this shit.
How could one of her close friends sleep with her boyfriend? After she had confided in her and vented to her and told her everything.
She trusted Jennifer and this is what she had done.
She couldn't believe Joey would cheat on her with her friend either.
Not after they had just got back together and promised to focus on each other.
Everything began to hit June and she began to cry harder.
The fact that she had given her virginity to Joey and trusted him with her body and he still cheated on her twice, the fact Malaki and a lot of others had bullied her about her weight before she lost it. The fact she had been so naive and given her body to Malaki as well who had still cheated on her afterwards was all making her sob even more.
It made her feel like she didn't matter and that she was worthless.
Why did everyone treat her like she was nothing?
Even her father seemed as if he didn't want anything else to do with her anymore.
She was done feeling pain and so tired of going through all of this.
She cried herself to sleep.
--
A few hours later, June woke up hearing a knock at her door.
She opened it guessing that it was her mother because this was what time she usually came home.
As soon as she opened the door, she regretted it seeing that it was Joey.
"I don't want to fucking see you right now! Get out of my house." June yelled as she pushed Joey.
"What I do?" Joey said as he looked and acted clueless.
"So now you wanna fucking play stupid ?" June asked as she scoffed.
"After everything you go behind my fucking back and fuck my friend? Really Joey?" June said as she began to cry.
"I'm sorry." Joey said as he looked down at the ground.
"That's all you have to fucking say?" June asked.
"I'm just a fucked up person June, I'm sorry for what I've done. We were both drunk the first time it was a mistake. " Joey said.
"It wasn't just one fucking time though. It was fucking multiple times from what I heard!" June yelled as she got in front of Joey.
"I tried to stop but she just kept coming onto me and you know I have a high sex drive." Joey replied.
June slapped Joey hard across the face.
"I can't fucking believe you! After everything we been through after all the times I cried in your arms about my weight, all the fucking times I cried to you about not being good enough? All the times you vented to me about your life with your brother and your dad and your family? Really Joey? This how you gonna do me? You're just proving I'm not good enough." June said as she cried louder.
"You are good enough, June." Joey said as he walked up to June cupping her face.
"Get the fuck off of me!" June said as she shoved Joey hard.
"Is everything alright in here?" June's mom said as she entered the room.
"You let him inside?" June asked as she continued to cry.
The room just fell silent.
"Did you?" June questioned her mother.
"What's going on?" June's mom asked.
"Why don't you fucking tell her what's been going on." June said as she looked at Joey.
Joey just walked out the room as June's mother followed him but he was already out the door.
