OUR FIRST dinner in our new house was not as grand and amazing as most people imagine but just plain pizza and a salad we bought from the nearby hypermarket. I took a huge bite out of my pizza before popping a question to my parents.

"So mom, where are we going to school?" I asked her, poking at a salad leaf. She swallowed her mouthful of pizza before replying me.

"Tribeca High, you'll be a junior and Peter will be a senior."

Peter fistpumped the air with his barbecue sauce covered hands and stuck his tongue at me. "Suck that Jazz, now I'm finally restored to my glory and fame which is a grade above you."

Dad gave him a stern look. "Language Peter at the table."

"Hopefully you'll understand what they teach with that little brain of yours." I said tapping his head with my clean hand.

"Oi." he exclaimed, jabbing me which resulted in barbecue sauce on my old t-shirt. Gross but he's my older brother, boys are all gross anyways. We finished dinner and I walked upstairs to my little cosy room. I quickly jumped into the shared bathroom and began cleaning myself up. At least Peter didn't have to worry about people knocking neither did my parents because their master bedroom was an en-suite. Freshening up, I slipped into my dinosaur onesie which was a gift from the boys and Vanessa before I left.

My phone had a few notifications and I saw they were all from Vanessa in capital letters demanding me to show myself on Skype. I logged into Skype and made myself comfy on the bed as the call began.

When it began, I saw Vanessa in a separate tab from the boys. I realised she was calling from India but I couldn't figure out the time she was calling. "Guys I can't see her, Sean piss off!"

"I'm not even next to you!" he retorted back from the boy tab. Vanessa rolled her eyes and when they fixated on me she screamed.

"JASMINE!" she shrieked into the call. Thank goodness I wasn't wearing headphones, that girl can scream like a banshee. I winced a bit at her voice.

"Hey guys!" I waved. It's great to see familiar faces despite being gone for a day only. The boy crew consisted of Matt Knight, Luke Stone, Sean Pietro and Marcus Lee. I noticed they were all at Sean's house, because of the oh so familiar Russian decorations. "I miss you guys."

The boys erupted in laughter. "Jazz it's only been like what, a day? If you miss us that much you're gonna have a hard time in Cali." Matt chuckled. I know he meant it as a joke but his words were quite true. If I kept missing them, my new life in California would be really difficult. Maybe I should move on though not forget them. "And you're wearing the onesie!" Vanessa pointed out. "It's crazily hot here in India btw, like seriously, you though Wisconsin was hot? India is like a freaking oven. Like I'm being slow cooked here." She fanned herself, exagerrating heat.

I laughed at the thought of Vanessa getting slow cooked under the Indian sun. It's probably not a good time to mention Cali's weather at a time like this. But on the topic, it's quite sunny in the afternoons but nights can be quite chilly according to dad.

"Oh and by the way," Vanessa said, chewing her lip. "I'm dating Parker Anderson."

My heart sank a little. Parker Anderson? How do I begin to describe Parker Anderson. First things first, he was my crush in middle school and obviously he didn't return my feelings. He hung out with us occasionally but never made a steady relationship with anyone, which made him 'popular'. Hence to say, he was a player and every girl wanted to be his girlfriend. I hope Parker settles down for Vanessa otherwise I will take a plane, break a speed limit and rearrange his pretty face.
