Chapter 6: Punishment ft. Suma, Makio & Hinasturu

Thursday, 3:00 pm, school hallways.

"I TOLD YOU TO NOT RUN IN THE HALLWAYS!!!" Sanemi's voice could be heard from the elementary school department.

[Reader] was standing idly in the hallway while taking in the endless scolding from Sanemi. Kanae was standing beside him, trying to calm him down.

"Shinazugawa, come on... It wasn't their fault... Besides, I'm the one who asked them to fetch me the medication as soon as they can since the crow was in a critical state. Calm down now..." Kanae tried to reassure him.

(Context: Kanae asked [Reader] to retrieve some medication from the storage room for the kasugai crow since one of them were badly injured. Given the critical situation, Kanae tell [Reader] to be quick, resulting them to run through the halls. Sanemi noticed this and saw how [Reader] accidentally bumped into Kanae causing her to fall down, dropping her stuff. Sanemi decided to scold them.)

"No! I've had it with this brat!" Sanemi crossed his arms and looked down at [Reader]. "You've crossed the line when you tried to outrun me yesterday AND bumping into Kocho like that!"

"They didn't mean it, Shinazugawa... They were just trying to help me... Plus, I didn't mind." Kanae once again tried to calmed him down.

Sanemi turned to Kanae with an irritated look. "Kocho, it's only been Tuesday and I've already scolded them four time this week!" He turned back to [Reader]. "You need a proper punishment so that you'd learn your lesson."

"Oh boy..." [Reader] muttered subtly.

"Well, if you want to punish them so bad... May I at least choose their punishment?" Kanae pleaded.

Sanemi clicked his tongue and rolled his eyes. "Fine... But don't go easy on them..."

Kanae smiled and looked at [Reader] with a wink, giving [Reader] a sense of relief. "As for your punishment... I think charity work would do for you. I say... You should stay behind in school today and help out the storage worker, Suma."

[Reader] brightened up a bit at the suggestion and nodded their head. "Sure! I'll head over there right now..!" They waved their hand goodbye before heading towards the storage room to help out Suma.

Sanemi stared at the student with an irritated look. "How did you manage to make them so happy about getting a punishment? Am I missing something here?"

Kanae responded with a chuckle. "Oh don't worry, Shinazugawa... At least their willing to do the given work."

"Right..." Sanemi said warily.

School Cafeteria, 3:30 pm,

"So that's what happened??" Suma asked in disbelief.

"Mhm, Shinazugawa sensei was real mad that time..." [Reader] explained while taking a sip of the tea given from Hinasturu.

Suma and [Reader] were sitting together in one of the tables in ghe cafeteria while Makio and Hinasturu were cleaning out the area.

"Well, Shinazugawa had always been that hot tempered." Makio said with a sigh.

"Just like you, Makio." Suma added in with a cheeky smile.

"Hah!? What was that??" Makio snapped.

Hinasturu only sighed as she put away the empty cup from [Reader]. "You just pointed out her words, Makio." She turned to [Reader] with a soft smile. "So, what would you and Suma be doing while Makio and I are cleaning the cafeteria?"
