Sarah strutted across the university courtyard, her heels clicking with each confident step. Her eyes scanned the bustling scene, searching for potential allies or adversaries. She had a reputation to uphold, after all.

"Out of my way," she muttered under her breath as she collided with a figure lurking in the shadows. The interruption irked her, disrupting the flow of her meticulously planned day.

"Watch where you're going," she snapped, her tone laced with irritation as she brushed past the figure. Sarah couldn't help but feel a pang of annoyance at the unexpected obstacle in her path.

Ethan's response was a mere nod, his expression inscrutable as he faded back into the shadows. Sarah's curiosity piqued, a flicker of interest stirring within her. She couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to him than met the eye.

Sarah surveyed the courtyard, her presence commanding the attention of those around her. She relished the admiring glances and whispered accolades that followed in her wake. It was good to be queen.

She noticed Ethan lingering at the edge of the crowd, his demeanor a stark contrast to the lively atmosphere. Sarah's curiosity piqued once again, a mix of frustration and intrigue bubbling beneath the surface.

"You seem lost, sweetheart," she drawled, her words dripping with disdain as she approached him. Sarah couldn't resist the urge to assert her dominance, to remind him of his place in the pecking order.

Ethan's nonchalant response only fueled Sarah's irritation. With a dismissive wave of her hand, she turned her attention elsewhere, determined not to let him disrupt her reign.

In the tense silence that followed, Ethan sensed a shift in the balance of power, a subtle undercurrent of tension simmering beneath the surface. As Sarah turned away, he felt a flicker of satisfaction at having held his ground. He may be silent, but he refused to be underestimated.

Before Sarah could leave, Ethan spoke up, his voice calm but firm. "Maybe I am lost, but I'm not the one trying too hard to find my way," he said, his words cutting through the air like a blade.
