Jade moved in her seat again.. "What is it, my little Astromech?" Obi-Wan asked her.. Jade looked over at him and smiled.. "I don't know really.. I think it is nothing." Jade said with a bright smile.. "Are you having flashbacks about your time with Count Dooku again?" Obi-Wan asked her.. "Why do you have to be so observant?" Jade asked with a sigh.. "From what I can gather, he was a very powerful and strong Jedi with high values." Obi-Wan said to her.. "Then if he was so good, why did he turn to the dark side? I don't understand.." Jade said to him.. "Jade, just because Count Dooku let you go, doesn't mean you will turn to the dark side." Obi-Wan said to her with a smile.. "Oh really?" Jade asked, looking at him.. How can he be so smart and so ignorant all in one go she wondered.. She then realised that he did not know about her last encounter with Dooku.. The one where she met him when he was with Qui-Gon.. Her Master's, Master.. Her friend since she was a girl.. The one she always told everything to.. The one she had been avoiding for the last few weeks.. Jade looked out the front window, she took a deep breath and closed her eyes.. She was going to tell him now, and get it over with, she did not like keeping secrets from him..

"I kissed Qui-Gon Gin.. I know it was wrong, but he kissed me first.." Jade said letting out her breath.. "I do not see what that has to do with this mission, or the fact that it is even appropriate, Jewel." Mace said to her with the look that said, you are skating on thin ice young lady.. "Master Windu? Oh? You!" Jade said as she stood and looked around the ship.. "I told you that it was a mistake bringing her along." Mace said to Dooku who sat in the other seat.. "I thought it would be good for her to see how things work outside the temple, and everyday life.. Being a Jedi is more than just learning to be a keeper of the peace." Dooku said.. "Mmmm.." Mace said with a sideways look at Jade.. "Wait, where is O... Qui-Gon?" Jade asked.. "Back at the temple, learning some valuable skills from Madame Jocasta." Dooku said to her with a bright smile.. "You should have stayed at the Temple with him, Jewel.. This is not a mission you should have brought a Padawan along on." Mace said to Dooku.. "Mmmm.." Dooku said as he turned back to his data pad..

"You've been studying that tablet for a long time. Are the answers you need over Master Katri's death in that file?" Mace asked him.. "No." Dooku replied.. "Senator Larik's testimony isn't enough for you?" Mace asked him.. "Are you talking about Master Katri?" Jade asked.. "Did you not tell the Padawan of your mission?" Mace asked him.. "No." Dooku replied.. He then handed Jade the tablet.. "Tell me what you see?" He asked her.. "Oh.. Ah.." Jade said, she tried to go back into her memory to remember this.. She had hogged the Jedi archives enough, she should know all about this.. But today she was drawing a blank.. "Look at the tablet." Dooku said to her.. "Oh yes.." Jade said flicking through it.. "So do you agree with me and the Jedi Council? Master Katri died from an ambush?" Mace asked Jade.. "Well it does look a little cut and dried, like..." Jade was saying.. "My instincts tell me it is not that simple." Dooku said.. "Why is that?" Jade asked.. "Who ambushed the senator? Why? And if Master Katri was killed, how did the senator escape?" Dooku asked.. "Ah, maybe they were lovers or something like that." Jade said.. Dooku smiled at her.. "Jedi do not form attachments, Padawan!" Mace said to her.. "Yeah they do." Jade replied.. "Why are you concerning yourself with these questions? The Council gave us our instructions. To return Master Katri's body to the Jedi Temple, so she can have a proper burial." Mace said to Dooku, trying to ignore Jade.. "But something more should be done. What do you think, Jewel?" Dooku asked her.. "Well I think ... well yes.." Jade said, looking at the tablet again.. "You will remain silent when we reach Raxus.. You are here because Count Dooku requested it.. Now since we are not members of the Council, we cannot involve ourselves in local political skirmishes, unless requested by the Jedi High Council or Senate." Mace said to them both.. "My friend, your devotion to rules is sometimes inspiring and sometimes maddening." Dooku said to Mace..

"Tell me about it.." Jade said with a smile, as Mace glared at Jade.. She sighed, back here again and this time for what? Mace thought she was just some Padawan.. Qui-Gon was at least not here, so she had no need to hide her face from him.. "WHY?" She silently asked herself as she watched the two younger men together.. Two men that she had only ever seen as enemies.. Jade felt like she was now living in history.. How cool was that she thought with a bright smile....
