"Where are you off to now, my young Astromech?" Obi-Wan said to Jade.. "Our mission is over is it not?" Jade replied.. "Yes." Obi-Wan replied.. "Then I am off to the library again.." Jade said with a smile.. "Jade, how are you today?" Anakin asked her.. "I am off to the library for a time." Jade said.. "Ah, studying again, you are just like Ashlyn." Anakin said to her.. "Why thank you Master Anakin." Jade said, smiling at him.. "What did Master Obi-Wan do this time?" Ahsoka asked.. Jade looked at Obi-Wan.. "You have fun in the library, I have things to attend." Obi-Wan said, making a hasty exit.. "He got you into a mess again didn't he?" Anakin asked her.. "Yes, this time we both almost died!" Jade said to him with her eyes wide.. Anakin chuckled.. "I know how you feel Jade, Master Anakin is always getting us into trouble." Ahsoka said with a smile.. "No I am not!" Anakin replied with a grin.. Ahsoka crossed her arms and looked at him.. "Okay, but only sometimes.. Sometimes it is you." Anakin said to her.. "Now you sound like Obi-Wan." Jade said with a giggle.. "I will see you around, Astromech." Anakin said to her.. "You had to, didn't you?" Ahsoka asked him with a playful smile.. Jade smiled at them as they walked away..
Later while she sat in the Library studying, she could feel her head drop into a sleep.. When she awoke there were Jedi murmuring everywhere.. Jade looked around, there were so many Jedi at the temple.. What were they all doing here at one time she wondered.. Then she saw him walking casually through the library, he was headed to the restricted area.. Jade jumped up and ran after him.. But she was too late to get him before he entered.. So she stood looking around at the Jedi all talking quietly, she spotted Jocasta Nu looking her way.. Jade slipped into the corner and hid.. She waited until Dooku came out.. As she did, she ran to him..
"What were you doing in there?" Jade asked him.. "Jewel? You returned?" Dooku said to her with a smile.. "You did not answer my question.." Jade said to him.. "No.. What do you think is going on?" Dooku asked, looking around.. He then walked over to Jocasta Nu.. Jade followed, Jedi were watching her.. "What's causing all the excitement, Master Jocasta?" Dooku asked.. "Your apprentice." Jocasta replied looking at Jade.. "Qui-Gon?" Dooku asked her.. "Yes, it would seem he has encountered a Sith Lord, or so he claimed to the Jedi High Council." Jocasta said to him.. "Where was this encounter?" Dooku asked.. "Tatooine. Yes, I think that was it. Deep in the Outer Rim, of course. Qui-Gon Jinn always had such an active imagination. As did you, Dooku." Jocasta said to him.. Jade almost laughed out loud.. Not the Count Dooku she knew.. "A quality valued less and less in these great halls." Dooku said to her before walking away with Jade following..
"What did you do inside the restricted area?" Jade asked him as they walked.. "I think you know that already, don't you Jewel?" Dooku asked her, avoiding her questions.. "You erased the planet Kimono didn't you?" Jade asked him.. Dooku did not speak.. "Do you know what you have done?" Jade asked.. "Yes." He replied.. "I don't think you do.. Dooku, you should be very careful from here.. I can tell you......." Jade was saying.. "I know what I am doing, Jewel.. So do not worry yourself about that right now.." Dooku said to her.. Jade stopped him there.. "Don't go there, this is not you.. I have had time with you later.. I was so scared of you, I thought I was going to die.. You are one scary man.. But for some unknown reason, you let me go." Jade said to him.. Dooku looked down at her.. "I am telling you the truth.. Now I see the man that you were, sorry, are now. I understand.. You were not always an evil Sith Lord." Jade said to him.. "I must do what I must do.. I can not be so bad, if I let you go. I am sure you exaggerate.." Dooku said to her.. "No I do not!" Jade said as she ran after him..
"I guess word travels fast." Qui-Gon said to Master Yaddle when he saw Jade and Dooku walking towards them. "Well, your statements to the Council were rather surprising." Master Yaddle said to them.. "Qui-Gon, you remember Jewel?" Dooku said to him.. "Ja.. Jewel, good to see you again." Qui-Gon said to her, hiding his shock well.. "Master." Qui-Gon replied, trying not to look at Jade.. Jade nodded at Qui-Gon and Master Yaddle.. She knew then and there, he had just returned from Tatoonie, with Ashlyn, Anakin and Cade.. "I heard of your report to the Council. Tell me about this mysterious attacker on Tatooine." Dooku asked him.. "I encountered a highly skilled warrior, one obviously trained in the Jedi arts." Qui-Gon said to him.. Jade was in total awe, this was her childhood friend, the one she had always talked to.. The one that knew all her secrets, her Master's Master.... "And you believe it was a Sith Lord?" Dooku asked.. "Yes." Qui-Gon replied.. "Of course it was." Jade said.. All looked at her.. "I mean I do not think that Master Qui-Gon would lie about such a thing." Jade said wishing the ground would swallow her whole.. "I gather the Council was not eager to validate that conclusion?" Dooku said to him when Jade looked down.. "No, they were not, Master." Qui-Gon said to him.. "I've been warning them about the coming darkness for years, never to be taken seriously." Dooku said.. Jade looked up at him with suspicion, but he was serious.. She looked across at Master Yaddle.. "Speaking on behalf of the Council, there's no reason to cause undue alarm." She said.. "So, you doubt his claim?" Dooku asked with aggression.. "You should believe him.." Jade said to her.. "No. I do not doubt this claim.. I do believe him.. But the wisdom of the Council is to be cautious until we know more." Master Yaddle said to them.. "No, they are way off." Jade said.. "Oh sorry, did I speak out loud, I do that sometimes." Jade said hiding behind Dooku.. Qui-Gon smiled at her.. "Master Yaddle is right about one thing. A Sith Lord is not to be trifled with. And I will not be there to protect you, my old Padawan." Dooku said to him.. "You need not worry, Master. Obi-Wan fills that role now. He acquits himself quite well." Qui-Gon said to him.. "But ... but you have thrown him over because you want to train Anakin." Jade said to him.. "Who is this Anakin?" Dooku asked.. "A young boy I found on Tatooine.. He is strong with the force.. As is his brother and sister." Qui-Gon replied.. "Well then, I should like to meet him someday. As well as young Obi-Wan." Dooku said to him.. Qui-Gon looked at Jade again, it was as if he knew what was coming.. "You're always singing his praises." Dooku said.. Qui-Gon then takes his leave.. Jade runs after him.. "Master?" Jade asked.. "No, not now Jewel.. But thank you for caring." Qui-Gon said to her... "Will you take care when you meet the Sith again, please.." Jade asked, she wanted to tell him that Obi-Wan will be scarred for life by what happens on Naboo.. "I will Jade, and thank you.." Qui-Gon whispered to her before disappearing into the temple..
