"WELCOME TO THE SOLVER of all problems," Marco said, holding his hands proudly in front of him.
The big bright sign reading Britta's Tacos loomed above them. Soleil could have sworn she heard violins playing triumphantly in the distance.
"What are tack-o's?" the princess asked.
Star rolled her eyes, though Soleil couldn't imagine at what seeing as they were both from the same place and grew up with the same food. She had only ever had corn products before!
"It's pronounced talk-oh," Marco explained softly, sensing the rising tension from his best friend. "They're really good! You'll love them."
Soleil simply told him to order her whatever he gets, and went to find an empty table. Though clearly her luck had yet to come back, as the tables were all full. The only table with any seats left was the one directly in front of the taco stand, however a girl in a beanie occupied one of the seats.
As if the girl had sensed her predicament, she looked up slowly with a creepily wide grin. She beckoned Soleil forward, and hesitantly the blonde walked over.
She observed the objects lazily strewn around the mystery girl, all of curious occult nature. There were several tall candles, an old leather bound book, crystals, a doll of some sort, and a large severed head with its eyes and mouth sewn shut.
"You can sit with me if you'd like," the black haired girl offered. She followed Soleil's line of sight, noticing her weary expression. "Oh, don't mind Sandra, she doesn't bite. You know, cause of the whole," she gestured to her mouth.
Soleil nodded, looking around for Star or Marco to come save her. They were still ordering, so she looked back to the girl and her objects. "I'll see what my friends want to do."
Just then, an excited squeal almost scared Soleil out of her shoes. She whipped around, watching as her sister bounded to the table.
"Janna Banana!" Star yelled, hugging the girl in the beanie.
"Oh hey Star," Janna said as though she weren't being suffocated at the moment. "You know Star, new girl?"
Soleil huffed out a laugh, "Better than I want to."
The older sister turned to mean-mug her, before huffing and pulling their meals out. Marco and Soleil took a seat on the bench across from the two other girls.
"How do you know her then?" Janna asked, reaching over steal one of Marco's chips.
"Hey! Get your own chips!"
"Janna, this is my younger sister Soleil," Star introduced. "She's staying with us for a few weeks while we figure out what to do with my wand."
Star held up the object in question, an ominous green glow leaking from it. Soleil winced, momentarily forgetting about why she was actually here.
"Cool. So, are you going to ECA then?" Janna asked.
"What is that?" Soleil replied, a puzzled look on her face. Star looked as though she could burst out laughing, while Marco shook his head.
"Echo Creek Academy. That's the school we go to, and I'm assuming you were enrolled in when you got here," Marco explained.
"HAHAHA you have to go to schoooool," Star dragged out, pointing at her sister.
"Whatever Star, you literally have to go with me," Soleil rolled her eyes.
Star's face dropped as the realization hit her. She sulked back into her seat, picking up a burrito and adding a fresh layer of sugar.
Marco repeated Star's actions, minus the sugar. He too forgot that he would be attending with the sisters, which would likely only add to their bickering.
Tacos were definitely not the solver of all problems.
