In fact, Willy Wonka did not believe in love at first sight or falling in love quickly. That all changed on the day he took five children, along with their p- ... people who raise them... into his factory.
He hated to socialize, even for a moment. His jaw hurt from smiling all day long, and his heart was racing from flashbacks he got more and more often. Why today? Why couldn't his twisted mind be kind to him once? He embarrassed himself when he could do nothing but stare into the void, remembering his childhood. It made him feel uncomfortable and hot under his clothes, making him sweat. Yup, he knew why he kept himself locked away, and the spies were just one of the reasons. Seeing people with children triggered him from the moment he saw them, and what triggered him even more was the fact that these people did nothing to protect their children from the "Accidents", which of course weren't accidents at all... They were traps set for the children to learn their darn lessons and their greedy, selfish p... elders to watch them suffer. And boy, did they suffer. No, in fact, they didn't suffer enough. Did they do anything to save their kids? No! Just as Willy Wonka had thought. He would have wished for a mother to jump into the chocolate river to save her son, a mother that would be terrified, crying for her child's pain as they got inflated with sweet blueberry juice, which was a painful process after all. A father trying to stop the squirrels from attacking his daughter... jeez, why did they just stare at that happening?!"Why is everything here completely pointless?"
He knew so well that most people don't actually care for their children; they only want them to do their will or become like them.
And if their children refuse, then... then..."Candy is just a waste of time"
...
"I won't be here when you come back!"
That night out on the streets was terrible. It was cold, and Willy could remember the thunder. He was always afraid of thunder, and his dad would tell him not to be a crybaby. Papa, please... I'm afraid, I'm sorry... Come back! I'll never eat candy again. I'm sorry!"Mr. Wonka?"
I'm... so sorry. Come back... I don't want to be alone!
"Mr. Wonka? Are you alright?"
The gentle voice of the young woman who accompanied Mike Teevee interrupted his thoughts. It was then that Willy was taken back to reality. You stopped his incoming panic attack, and he was so grateful for that. As he felt your hand on his shoulder and turned to face you, he realized how pretty you actually were. How did he not notice you? How did he never talk to you or tell you to join him when he danced to the Oompa Loompa songs? What a stumblebum he had been!
"What? Oh, yah I'm... fine..."
Now everything became so crystal clear - a little too clear for Willy to actually enjoy the feeling of clarity. For ten silly years, he had ignored the feeling of being lonely. He didn't have anybody he was in love with, and he had his Oompa Loompas, which made it kinda unimportant. But now... you. Only you. How badly he wanted to cancel the tour right now and keep you here. He still needed an heir, though, and making children with you wasn't an option. The thought of a pregnant woman or the thought of giving birth made him sick to his stomach, and he despised babies. Ew, ew, ew...Don't think of that now! He could not imagine you in pain or in any discomfort at all!He had to keep you safe, no matter the prize.
